In practically every country, women now have the ability to vote and participate in

parliament. And according to studies, there are typically more women in parliament, which

results in a greater focus on women's issues. In order to achieve gender equality and true

democracy, women must actively participate in politics. It is a way to guarantee greater

accountability to women and to enable women's direct participation in public decision-making.

However their representation is still lacking, particularly in higher positions. In fact during the

United Nations First World Conference on Women in Mexico City in 1975, the world

community was reminded that discrimination against women persisted in many nations and that,

despite governments' calls for strategies to support women's equal participation, political

participation had not yet been prioritized.

Women's involvement in politics influences the variety of policy concerns that are taken

into consideration as well as the kinds of solutions that are put forth, thereby promoting gender

equality (Pepera, 2018). Also, women in positions of decision-making are a good place to start

when it comes to political accountability to women, but it doesn't end there. Gender-sensitive

governance reforms are needed, which will increase the effectiveness of all elected officials in

advocating for and guaranteeing the implementation of gender equality in public policy (UN

Women, 2007).

Women in politics is important to get involve to it since women approach issues

differently than males do because of the distinct obstacles and life experiences that shape their

policies and leadership styles. We may revive and diversify policymaking by more fully

expressing the opinions of women. It pertains to one’s effort to show how women shape the

society including their role in the development and how it affects relations between them. Our

society need to have a women leader and make women to be aware of their rights in politics. One
of the best possible to open the challenges and experiencing of women in politics to others is to

promote the awareness of their rights and women sensitivity at all levels of society.
