Media has had a significant impact on my life, both positively and negatively, as I

reflect on the influence of various media channels using the four theoretical
frameworks.

To begin with, media's ability to shape behavior aligns with "The Media Effects
Perspective." I can vividly recall the excitement of receiving my first touchscreen
phone during my elementary school years. It became a source of addiction as I spent
countless hours searching for pictures of my favorite K-Pop group, "Girl's
Generation," and even practiced their music videos at home, sharing the dance
routines with my childhood neighbors. The Cultivation Theory holds true as well, as I
personally experienced the immersive power of television shows. Being a fan of
Korean dramas, I would spend entire weekends preoccupied in watching them on my
laptop or television. Unfortunately, this sometimes led to laziness at home and
difficulties following my parents' instructions. When it comes to media choices, the
Uses and Gratification Approach reveals how individuals select specific channels to
meet their personal needs. In my family, conflicts often arise during gatherings or TV
viewing sessions due to differing preferences for what we want to watch. This
highlights the potential for media choices to cause disagreements and tensions. Lastly,
the Active Audience Theory strongly resonates with me. Although I may appear
passive in my daily life, I actively engage with media when it comes to current events
and important issues. I seek out information and participate in discussions on various
platforms, expressing my thoughts and opinions.

In conclusion, media has had a deep impact on my life, influencing my behavior,

perspectives, and interactions within my family and society. By examining different
theoretical frameworks, we can gain a deeper understanding of how media shapes
individuals in different ways.
