Recommended and supported test device
configurations
From Nemo Handy and Nemo Walker Air version 4.70 onwards, device models older than two years
(from the official release of the device model) will not be officially supported as test devices. You can
continue to use them as long as you need, but potential device related issues might not get addressed.

Read this before resetting your terminal!

Before you do a factory reset for the terminal, you need to release the
license back to the OTA license server from the License menu. If you do not
release the license from the application before you reset the terminal, you
cannot start the application without contacting Nemo Helpdesk as the license
is locked.

Nemo Walker Air

For Nemo Walker Air, we recommend the following approved and tested device configurations. Extensive
and long acceptance tests have been conducted with the following device configurations.

Do not update your Nemo Walker Air Controller to any new Android version if your system and
configuration are working fine. There’s a high risk that the Bluetooth functionality with multiple devices will
stop working. One of the known issues is that pairing is needed after the tablet is rebooted. Please notice,
that end-of-life have been announced for the Samsung Tab S8.

Known issues and limitations
Generic
• To be able to achieve maximum Wi-Fi throughput, please turn off the Wi-Fi location feature in the
terminal. Go to Location Services in the settings and disable Use Wireless Networks for location.

• QNOTE script event as the last script event when a nested script is in use will write extra QNOTE
events to the measurement files.

• Transaction log doesn’t indicate if iPerf 3 transfer has failed.

• Long descriptions in active transactions do not fit the screen on the Script page.

Device and scanner related issues and limitations

Forcing related limitations
• Check the device release notes available in KSM for device-dependent forcing limitations.

Samsung Galaxy terminal related issues

• With Samsung Shannon modems, MCC, MNC, Cell ID & TAC parameters are all N/A in LTE until
PCI changes

• Samsung Galaxy S22+ SM-S9060 (QC) WCDMA Channel lock is not supported

• Samsung A52 SM-A526B: Device stays out of network when the UARFCN channel lock is activated

• Samsung Galaxy S22 Qualcomm based terminals: Channel lock (UMTS) and PCI Lock on LTE are
not supported

• Samsung Galaxy S22 Exynos based terminals: “Unlock” command which releases all the forcing
functions will not show the correct information for the forcing status

PCTEL scanner related issues

• Even if the PCTEL IBFlex scanner is showing an expiration date in the Nemo Handy / Nemo Walker
Air user interface, the license type is perpetual and will not expire on the due date.

• PCTEL IBFlex band 66 shows the wrong EARFCN channel.

Sony terminal related issues

• With Sony terminals when making voice calls, zero (0) cannot be the first number. A workaround for
this is to add the country or area code in front of the number.

www.keysight.com
9
LinkedIn-related testing limitations
• LinkedIn: The possibility to load a LinkedIn personal profile was removed. Also, the possibility to load
contacts was removed due to LinkedIn API permission policy changes.

• LinkedIn transfers are all "Load profile from contact list" in the measurement file.

Twitter testing limitations

• Twitter testing is not supported anymore as a testing method due to the changes in the Twitter API.

Facebook-related testing limitations

• Facebook limits the number of status updates and image postings.

• If you see an error message, it means the Facebook limit has been reached. It is not a permanent
error, so the feed will continue to work, and once the limit is reset on Facebook’s end (daily), new
posts will be posted again automatically.

• Currently each app is given an allotment of 200 API calls per user in any given 60-minute window.
Please note that Facebook can change this limit. Please see more details from:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/advanced/rate-limiting

WhatsApp-related testing limitations

• Phone language must be English, Spanish, or French.

• Parallel activities that include UI interaction are not allowed, including browser-based tests, and
application start.

• Any UI interruptions or user interaction that removes WhatsApp from active application status will fail
the tests.

• Call failures and call drops are detected only with MO calls.

• Proximity sensor and screen saver of the test device prevent WhatsApp testing with Nemo Walker
Air backpack. The backpack lid needs to be kept open during WhatsApp testing hence it is not
suitable for in-building measurements. We are working on a solution that will disable the terminal
proximity sensor on the UE.

• 100KHz bandwidth option is available in LTE OFDM scan configuration even if it is not supported.

• WhatsApp voice calls will be dropped if there’s no audio being transferred in 20 seconds. This is a
feature of the WhatsApp application itself.

Viber-related testing limitation

• Viber testing does not work correctly with Viber application versions which are never than 9.5.0.6.

• The proximity sensor and screen saver of the test device prevent Viber testing with Nemo Walker Air
backpack. The backpack lid needs to be kept open during Viber testing hence it is not suitable for in-
building measurements. We are working on a solution that will disable the terminal proximity sensor
on the UE.

VoLTE / VoNR / IMS SMS / ViLTE / VoWiFi / ViWiFi

• Call type in the call attempt event (CAA) is written as a voice call, not VoLTE or WLAN IMS voice call
when a call is made with Nemo Handy or Nemo Walker Air. This is because the call type is unknown
at the time of the call attempt. Call type in the call connection event (CAC) should be observed.

• When sending SMS over IMS, statistics are doubled.

Nemo Walker Air specific issues and limitations

• Nemo Walker Air Agent show incorrectly "listening" status even though the controller is connected

• In Nemo Walker Air, the Facebook, Email, and MMS testing attachments and photos need to be
manually added to the agent’s scripts folder. Only the file name needs to be specified without the
actual path name. These attachments will be specified in the scripts in the controller unit.

• Dropbox file upload might fail with one or more agent units during the first attempt.

• If Bluetooth data transfer disconnects, the Nemo Walker Air controller application needs to be
restarted.

• Start script icon is visible always during the measurement.

• Serving Info view is not working properly in Nemo Walker Air Controller; this will be fixed in an
upcoming version.

PEVQ-S Testing information
Non-reference video quality testing with PEVQ-S

In the version 4.80 (released spring 2023) changes were made to the popular video quality testing PEVQ-
S where the need to use reference video files was removed. This means that Video Quality MOS can be
obtained with a wider variety of YouTube Files. In addition to this, 4K video files are supported. With
many smartphones, you can achieve 4K resolution if you use the device in landscape mode. The usage
of reference files is not supported anymore due to changes in the PEVQ-S third party package provided
by Opticom.

In addition to PEVQ-S license option, YouTube option is required. This is included in the Social Media
Testing package.

Android and low data throughput

New Android-based smartphones with Android version 6.0 or later have battery optimization enabled by
default. Battery optimization will stop some CPU and network activity operating in the background for
Android apps, thus saving battery. It activates when the handset is left idle for a period, while unplugged
and with the screen off. The battery-saving mode interrupts background activity for Android applications
such as Nemo Handy and Nemo Walker Air. With for example data transfers, this manifests in limited
data throughput values. The battery saving option is disabled by default when you launch Nemo Handy or
Nemo Walker Air for the first time after installation. However, in case low data throughput is experienced,
the following settings should be checked, and battery optimization should be disabled for all applications.
Please note that the settings menu varies depending on the handset vendor and model.

Select the phone's settings.

1. Select Battery from the device list and select Battery optimization from the menu icon at the top-
right of the screen.

2. Select all apps from the drop-down menu in the center of the display. You will see all the apps that
are Doze-enabled.

www.keysight.com
12
3. Select Don’t optimize for all apps and tap DONE. Now you are set up.

Power saving in Android terminals

Note that some terminals switch the GPS off when they enter the power save mode. This will influence
the GPS positioning features that are being used by Nemo applications. Please check the phone manual
on how to change the setting if needed.
