volcanos worked, to save lives, but his boss sent him to take a holiday. So, he went around the
world for a year, when he returned, Paul sent him to Dante´s Peak (in the Cascades, Washington,
USA) to see a moving mountain. Harry took the equipment he needed and drove Dante´s Peak,
where there was a beautiful and a mountain that stood tall over the town, which had 7000
habitants. Harry left his things in the hotel and started to look for mayor Wando.

CHAPTER 2

Rachel was getting late to the meeting in the school, she was going to make a talk about a
newspaper that called Dante's Peak the second-best town of the country. Once they arrived to the
meeting, Harry saw them and was surprised by how beautiful Rachel was. When she finally made
her speech, she thanked the journalist and promised that with Elliot Blair's inversion, they were
going to become the best to live in The USA.

CHAPTER 3

There was a beautiful and quiet lake there called “Warm Lake”, it was famous because of its hot
water. A woman and a man were having a swim there, when they felt a small earthquake and
heard the birds flying away from the trees. Some rocks moved under the lake and the ground
opened, which made gas explode into the lake. The pair of friends that were there died.
Harry introduced himself to Rachel, she offered to show him the place, but first she had to find her
son, who was in an old mine with his friends.

CHAPTER 4

Rachel drove the children to their grandma´s house. Ruth thought that Harry was Rachel´s
boyfriend, but he explained his job and she told him the volcano haven´t caused problems since
1980. Then, Harry noticed the brown dead trees by the lake and decided to examine it, He was
surprised by the amount of acid that the lake had and went to the warm lake. Lauren saw a few
dead animals, the kids wanted to swim but harry stopped them because there was too much gas.
Then, Lauren found the dead bodies in the water and screamed

CHAPTER 5

Harry called Paul to ask for help and called for a reunion with the most important people of the
town to advert them. There were eight people there. The sheriff Turner said that the volcano had
exploded 7000 years ago, that it was dead, but Harry explained that it was sleeping, not dead, that
it could be dangerous again. They were discussing, because Harry thinks people should move out
for their own security, but the rest of them because it could affect to their economy, when Paul
appeared and told Harry he wasn´t sure about the explosion and that he should stop. Paul asked
everyone in the room to stay calmed, that harry had made a mistake but that they were going to
have the town monitored for a while.

CHAPTER 6

In Stein´s Bar, Paul told Harry that he should take some rest because he was very tired to
understand the situation. After that, Terry and Harry were flying around the peak on a helicopter
and the ground gave a strong push making some big rocks fell down the mountain. Harry had
apologized to Rachel for what happened the day before, she accepted the apology and invited him
to have dinner with her. After dinner, they talked about their marriages, Rachel married when she
was too young and her ex-husband had left hear six years ago and their children didn´t remember
him.

CHAPTER 7

The next day, Harry Terry and Stan wanted to figure out when the ground moved, so, they
returned to the mountain with robots that showed them the volcano from the inside. Then, they
went to Rachel´s café and informed her that the were between 25 and 27 earthquakes every day,
but that it was normal. The following day, Terry and Harry went to the mountain, where an
earthquake made a rock fell on Terry and his robot. Harry pulled away the rocks on Terry´s leg
while some smoke started to come from the volcano and the helicopter appeared to rescue them.

CHAPTER 8

When the helicopter came down, a lot of people were waiting for them. The doctor took Terry and
Harry went to talk to Paul, who still believes nothing is going to happen and told Harry he knew
that what happened to Marianne was sad, but he should lose his fear to volcanos. Three days after
that, they were leaving the town and Harry invited Rachel to Portland. Elliot Blair was there to
check that he wasn't wasting his money in “Pompeii” but Paul assured him there was no danger.
Harry and Rachel walked together to Rachel's home. There were hundreds of dead fishes in the
water of the lake.

CHAPTER 9

Harry and Rachel were talking about Harry leaving when Harry hugged her and a woman saw
them. Then, they entered to Rachel's house for coffee, but when Lauren asked for water, they
realized that the water was brown. After that, they went to the place where the water came from
and saw the amount of gas that was there and returned to the town to advert Paul. The
earthquakes were becoming stronger and the gas was covering Dante's peak.
Rachel was trying to keep calm while she made an official speech to explain the situation to the
habitants, but an earthquake moved the school and everybody started running and screaming.
The volcano threw ash and dark smoke while its lava was moving.

CHAPTER 10

A builind fell on the school bus. Paul apologized to Harry, instantly after that, Rachel and Harry
went home to save the children, but they weren´t there, Graham had taken the car to save his
grandma who decided to die in her house. They were driving Through other cars when the garage
exploded in the town and started a fire. There were people outside the hotel waiting for the
helicopter, but the only ones that could get into it where the rich ones. Paul tried to stop them
because it was dangerous, but they couldn´t listen, and the ash had already got into the engine of
the helicopter and stopped it. The helicopter hit the mountain and exploded.

CHAPTER 11

The children entered to Ruth's house to rescue her and an earthquake surprised them, Roughy ran
into the trees, and they tried to find her, but Ruth stopped them and made them leave the place.
When Rachel arrived to Ruth's house, the children were coming out of the forest. They wanted to
come back to the town, but they couldn't because there were fallen rocks on the road. Harry
called Paul, who offered to send a helicopter before the radio died. The lava started to cover the
mountain, firing the trees, and then, Ruth’s house and the cars. They ran to the lake and jumped
into a boat, Ruth started the boat and moved them across the water, watching the house on fire
and one of the cars exploding while the acid started to eat into the boat.

CHAPTER 12

Acid water was flowing into the boat, they put their feet out of the water. The engine was
stopping slowly, so, Harry put Graham's coat around his hand and started to move the boat in the
water but, It didn't work because the acid ate the coat. There were only 5 metres to go when Ruth
decided to jump from the boat and push the boat. Everyone jumped to the ground, but Ruth
couldn't do it because the acid had eaten her legs, before dying she remembered Rachel that she
wanted her to be happy while she and the children were crying.

Rachel, Harry and the children were tired and dirty because they had walked the mountain down,
luckily they found an old car. They were crossing the lava river when they saw Roughy and rescued
her. The rest of the scientists were trying to escape when the river flowed and killed Paul.

CHAPTER 13

They drove into Dante's peak, where everything was destroyed by the fire, then Graham had an
idea, they could scape walking under the ground, using the mine. The rest of the scientists were
climbing out of the car when a big earthquake hit and the volcano exploded. Harry, Rachel and the
children saw the hot ash and rocks falling and followed Graham into the mine where there was
some food, drink and lights that he had left there before. Rocks were falling in the mine when
Harry decided to run to the car radio to ask for help. In the way, some rocks hit his legs and arms,
but he could survive.

Two days later, when the earthquakes stopped and the volcano went quiet, a helicopter came
down outside the mine to save them. They were all healthy and happy.
