Mother always said, "Be good and nice things will happen.

" I have always been a good boy

from a well-known family, recognized for our fishing store on the beach. Since I was a kid, I
looked at boats with desire, but my parents never let me go sailing with them.

I love the beautiful blue sea that surrounds our land, I love the coastal air that messes up my
hair, and I love the feeling of sand on my feet. I have been living on the coast my whole life,
and I feel like the beach is the reason for my existence. Every day, I wake up really early to
go and sit on the sand, watching the boats sail away. I have always dreamed about being a
sailor and traveling around the world in a big boat, maybe even having an eye patch like a
pirate... and a parrot!

My family is very close, or at least it used to be. My sister had always been my best friend.
We played together every day and talked all night until we fell asleep. I loved her company,
and she was the best friend I could ever ask for. You could find us building sandcastles,
looking for little crabs and shells, and constructing forts with rocks.

While my dad was always working at our fishing shop, it was really fun to accompany him.
The shop had a lot of interesting stuff like fish decorations, hooks, nets, and many other
things.

My mother was the best storyteller in the world. She used to tell me fascinating stories about
sailing, the sea, mermaids, and pirates. I couldn't sleep without hearing a story from my
mom.

One night, I woke up very late, but I couldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to go for a walk.
Outside the house, my mom was preparing a boat for sailing.

"What are you doing?" I asked, but she didn't answer. Instead, she just said, "Be a good boy
and don't take a boat sailing. You know you are not allowed."

She was right, so I sat on the sand. The boat started sailing, and my mom seemed kind of
sad, but I didn't notice it at the time. The sea was not calm at all, and I felt a little scared
about my mom sailing alone at this hour when nobody else was awake. Then my mom
waved at me, as if saying goodbye.

"Remember to be a good boy," she said, and she kept waving as the boat sailed away until I
couldn't see it anymore.

I got scared and ran towards a boat, but then I remembered what my mom said and decided
not to sail after her. So I went back home and got into my bed to go back to sleep.
When I woke up, my dad was crying, and I didn't know why. And then I realized.

My mom never came back, and she was never going to.

Mother always said, "Be good, and nice things will happen." But she wasn't right all the time.
