I: Prior to Our Encounter

Like each mundane day, the scene replayed its way,

News of an event piqued my curiosity,
But tardy I was, to the tale too late,
Thus, as usual, the day followed its known fate.

Once more, like any other day, in the same old way,
I lingered on, awaiting the sun's soft decay,
Yet, time proved not squandered, the routine rent asunder,
For a message arrived, breaking the routine's thunder.

The missive delivered brought a choice to my door,

To release or to depart, uncertain what's in store,
I entrusted fate to chance's gentle throw,
Opting to journey on, where new paths may grow.

A choice made, shaping the days yet to unfold.

In this ballad of life, a tale of decisions bold.
II: The Encounter

In the usual way, the day began, a path to the event I planned,
Arriving early, time to kill, I wandered, lost in thought until,
Unexpectedly, a change unfurled, the day’s script in a different world,
Anticipation filled the air, a fresh event beyond compare.

In the room, a twist of fate, I found myself at a different gate,

Amongst a group I didn’t expect, our encounter, fate’s direct effect,
Beside you sat, though unaware, I noticed you with tender care,
Introductions made, a subtle start, a conversation, a beating heart.

As the day progressed, I saw, your notes and doodles, without a flaw,
Your voice, soft as a gentle stream, in dialogue, a mutual dream,
Enchanted by your curiosity, absorbed in tales of my reality,
We shared and laughed, time flew by, moments etched, I couldn’t deny.

Yet as the event drew to a close, a shadow fell, a bitter dose,

A realization, a fleeting chance, you’d depart, leaving in advance,
With a heavy heart, I made my plea, for a chance to stay in memory,
But your departure loomed, a silent blow, leaving me with memories to
stow.

Back in my seat, a pang of sorrow, I sought to borrow hope from

tomorrow,
Once more, I reached out, seeking a thread, but your response, left unsaid,
Resigned to fate’s swift hand, I sat, a silent witness to a final stand,
Leaving behind a token of me, in the empty space where you used to be.
III: Encounter’s Departure

In the moment you left, I hurriedly gave chase,

Driven by the gift I longed to embrace.
Yet, as I pursued, it felt futile, too late,
Left behind in sorrow, to lament my fate.

Returning alone, I waited with a heavy heart,

For the event's end, longing to depart.
Realization dawned, in your absence I found,
Though you left, memories lingered profound.

I want you to know, our meeting I hold dear,

Yet tinged with sorrow, knowing you're not near.
Every moment cherished, every glance I caught,
Questions unasked, lessons I sought.

Regrets linger from that fateful day,

Wishing I'd sat beside you without delay.
Words left unspoken, opportunities missed,
The chance for a gift, too swiftly dismissed.

Only through these words, my feelings conveyed,

Though distant, my affection won't fade.
Regrets may weigh, but one thing is true,
My fondness for you, constant and true.
