TITLE: Trebuchet Project Abstract
SECTION:

The trebuchet project involves the development and analysis

of a medieval weapon that used interceptors to re sniper ri es.
Building small trebuchets allows me to explore the concept of
moment and force vectors in a practical and interesting way.

In this project, I will begin by analyzing the principles behind

trebuchets and understanding how moments, forces and vectors
come into play in the launching process. I will then design and build
your trebuchet using materials such as wood, wire, and
counterweights.

To analyze the performance of the trebuchet, I will use vector

analysis to determine the forces acting on the throwing arm and the
projectile. This would take into account factors such as the pull of
the rope, the weight of the device, and the arm release position. In
addition, I would calculate the moment acting on the pivot point of
the trebuchet to maintain stability and balance.

Through experimentation and repetition, I will re ne my

trebuchet setup by varying variables such as counterweight, release
angles, and arm length. By determining the distance and accuracy
of the trebuchet, I can assess its performance and make any
necessary adjustments.

Finally, I will write out your system con guration, including

diagrams, calculations, and descriptions of time, power, and vectors
involved. These letters will be the details of my trebuchet work.
