Linked Objects
Linked object are a shell
(Link Container) for
another object. They are
created using Copy and
Paste Special.
Master objects which are
linked to runtime screens
are stored in a template
screens (tp_xxxx.cim).
These screens are not
used for control.
Linked objects use local
variable string
substitutions to identify
unique process signal
names for each
application.

The template
screen,

object, 7FA_DUAL,
that will be used
on multiple
runtime screens.
The object has
the same
appearance on all
screens.

On the runtime screen,
the link container for
the turbine is linked to
the 7FA_DUAL object in
the
tp_7fa_overview.cim
screen.
A linked object can be
identified by the
presence of a
LinkContainer tab in its
properties dialogue box.
The Variables tab is
used to attach unique
signal names or ascii
strings to internal
