1ans : the Supreme Court and the high court have the power to interpret the constitution of the
country. They can declare any law of the legislature or the actions of executive invalid , whether at the
union level or state level, if they find such law or action is agonist the constitution

2 ans : the president is the head of the of the state. In our political system, the head of the state
exercises only nominal powers . The president supervises the overall functioning of all political
institutions in the country so tht they operate in harmony to achieve the objectives of the state .

3ans : the president is the supreme commander of defence force of India

4ans : in all democracies , an assembly of elected representatives exercises supreme political


authority on behalf of the people. In India such a National Assembly of elected representatives is
called parliament. In other words , parliament is set of people elected regularly by the people of the
country, directly ( through direct elections) or indirectly ( through indirect elections)

5ans : Lok Sabha, it is usually directly elected by the people and exercises the real power on behalf
of the people . The Lok Sabha is composed of the elected representatives of the people
