Determine the symptom from the symptom index and select the correct troubleshooting table.
Follow the rows below that symptom starting with point “0.1” to determine what could be the cause of the symptom.
Use the “Check” field to find out if the first possible cause is true or false.
When the check is true follow up with the “action(s)“ field to resolve cause of this symptom.
When the check is not true follow up with the next possible cause (next row 0.2).
Continue this until the cause of the symptom is solved.
Note any special important instructions in the ‘’Remark’’ field.
For more clarification see sample tables.

Reassembly general:
Cautions:
• Make sure that all wires are put back in the original position during reassembly.
• Make sure that all air tubes are put back in the original position during reassembly.
• Make sure that the LCD is clean before the Front Housing is installed.
1 Solder the Battery wires onto the terminals in the Ground Housing (3). Red wire on the left
and black on the right, (Picture 2.1)
2 Slide the DC Jack (1-8) into the guides in the Ground Housing (3) and connect the TDA
Tube to the Cuff Tube Connector (11) in the Ground Housing. (Picture 2.2)
3 Carefully place the Module Assembly (1) back to its original position in the Ground Housing
(3). Check that all wires and tubes are put back into their original positions. Place the
Switch PCB on the supporting posts and align the screw holes. (Picture 2.3)
4 Install the 4 Phillips head Screws (10) [black arrows]. (Picture 2.3)
5 Carefully install the LCD Holder (15) Note the four locating pins (black circles) in the

Note:
• Ambient temperature for compliance check & adjustments is 20ºC +/- 5ºC.
Warning:
• If the HBP-1100 does not meet the required Compliance Check specifications,
repair or reject the unit.
1 Required Equipment:
2 Stopwatch
4 ~60 cm length of Cuff Tube [2 pieces] (NOT Comfort Cuff type) (see Note below)
Note: to simplify performing the ‘Pressure Sensor Accuracy Check’ and the ‘Cuff air
leakage check’ it is recommended that both cuff tube connectors are purchased. See
the Spare Parts Price List for the current price.
2 Preparations:
1 Make sure the PA350 is ready for use; refer to “Instruction Manual PA-350”.
2 Switch on the PA350 and wait until “0” is displayed.
The PA350 is ready for use.
3 PA-350-E – open the Deflation valve.
4 PA350Z – push Air Release button once, and then a second time for auto zero
setting.
5 Select “UA’’ or “Upper Arm” mode on the PA-350.
6 PA-350-E - select P mode, “P” will be displayed.
7 To enable Test Mode, press the Power button to turn on the unit. (Picture 2.1)
8 The unit will go through an initialization process lasting about 5 seconds ending with
a 0. (Picture 2.2)
9 Now hold down the (Auscultation) button for approximately three (3) seconds,
and Picture 2.3 will appear on the LCD Display.
10 The unit is now in Test Mode.
11 Connect the HBP-1100 to the PA350 using the Cuff Tube.
Picture 2.1 Picture 2.2 Picture 2.3
Picture 3.1
Picture 3.2
NOTE 1: This procedure only checks air leakage to the pressure sensor. The air tubes
to the solenoid and pump assembly are electronically blocked.
NOTE 2: It is possible that the pressure displayed on the PA-350 can rise by as much
as 0.5 mmHg during this test. This is caused by the air cylinders in the PA-
350 warming up.
PA-350-E – Select PA mode, “PA” will be displayed. The display will switch back
and forth between the pressure value and the deflation speed (for
example; ≡ 5.2).
10 Record the readings of the check on the Compliance Check Result Form (section
12).
NOTE 1: The first and last readings are unstable; the measurement has to stabilise.
Record the values indicated on PA350 between 240 to 60 mmHg.
NOTE 2: PA-350-E, it is advisable to take pressure steps of 20 mmHg for this check.
Take only the even or uneven pressure values for recording.
Specification for the deflation speed outer limits are: 3.0 to 7.0 mmHg/sec
7 Adjustments:
1 There are no adjustments for the HBP-1100.
