Introduction to Moodle: The eLearning Platform

Please note:

• Every student must have the UCU email address and password in order to be able to
access Moodle
• Assignments in Moodle are time bound and therefore must be submitted before midnight
every Sunday.

Assignment #1:

• Visit link given in week one.

• Do self assessment test on the following and post scores
o Word Processing knowledge rubric
o Word Processing self assessment
o Key boarding skills
o Internet
o Email
o Computer and digital literacy
o Telephone ethics
• Considering your performance in the test, identify learning needs and set your goal to
meet those needs.
• Set at least 5 objectives that will help you achieve the goal
• Submit for scores from self assessment, learning needs, goals and objectives for scoring
before midnight on Sunday.

How to improve your typing skill:

• Download Mavis Beacon the typing assistant.

• Set goals for achieving at least 40 words per minute.

NB: This there will be a practical exam at the end of the semester.
