The ax sailed through the air, ricocheting off the armoured scales that lined the thick flesh

off
the auroch. Enraged, the auroch looked up from rolling in the mud pit, fury glinting in its eyes.
The hunter dashed towards the bushes, hoping to get out of the aurochs line of sight. Nothing
could penetrate the protection of an auroch.

The auroch stared at the patch of rustling bushes, shielding its cowering calf. The auroch
nervously scraped it’s horns against the sediment, getting ready to charge at the slightest trace
of danger. Torak held his breath, bracing for a brutal attack. The auroch still did not move, its
eyes fixated on the man, who was slowly emerging from the bushes.

Now having a chance to examine the man more closely, he saw that his clothes were shriveled
and stained with what looked like blood. His axes were shaded a deep crimson red, a great
contrast to his menacing blue eyes and coat. The auroch leaped gracefully into the woods,
careful to keep a safe distance from the foreboding man. All this time, the hunter’s ocean blue
eyes were fixed to the bloodshot pupils of the auroch, who was clearly switching to offense.

The hunter raised his arm again- not to hurl another pointless ax- but to signal the auroch to
come closer. Still loyal to its calf, the auroch stayed shielding the baby auroch from danger.

But at that exact moment, Torak saw something change between the two of them. Their gazes
softened, as if they knew each other like long-lost friends. Torak still thought he was missing
something, as aurochs don’t befriend mankind. After examining the hunter even more closely,
there was another badge, apart from ‘Boar Clan’, there was an ominous looking tattoo that he
couldn’t read properly.

The auroch was slowly edging further towards the man, signalling its cub to stay underneath it in
case the hunter betrayed them.

Their eyes locked, but as soon as the hunter raised a hand towards the auroch, it went leaping
away lithely and gracefully, far way into the forest where the hunter would never find it again.
