EcoStruxure Fundamentals

“Life is on” - Key takeaways

 Our resources are limited, that is why Schneider Electric makes better use of what’s
around us, giving clean sustainable energies, a solid chance in the future.

 The demand for energy and automation will continue to grow under the pressure of the
three megatrends – Urbanization, Digitization, and Industrialization.

 By 2050, the world’s cities will be home to an additional 2.5 billion people causing stress
on infrastructure, transportation, public services, and energy demand.

 We need to reduce the carbon emission by half because 80% of energy generation of
carbon emissions is due to its dependency on fossil fuels.

 We need to step up our efficiency by a factor of three i.e. becoming three times more
efficient on our energy demand in the four end markets.

 To achieve the challenge of becoming three times more efficient, we need Digitalization as
the key enabler and Internet of Things as catalyst.

“Internet of Things” - Key takeaways

 Internet of Things (IoT) accelerates the convergence of Information Technology (IT) with
Operation Technology (OT).

 At Schneider Electric, we supply digital technologies to drive the convergence of energy,

automation, and software to get a greater level of efficiency.

 Schneider Electric converges energy with automation and software, to apply it to the four
end markets.

 Schneider Electric’s IoT is not just an IT approach and not just an OT approach, but a real
IT and OT integrated IoT vision delivering business value today.

“What is EcoStruxure” - Key takeaways

 Schneider Electric originally launched EcoStruxure in 2007 and in 2016, we launched

the next generation EcoStruxure.

 EcoStruxure is Schneider’s IoT-enabled, plug-and-play, open, interoperable architecture,

and platform, which allows us to innovate at every level.

 EcoStruxure platform is the functional technology backbone, which enables embedded

connectivity and intelligence using standard-based communication protocols.

 Schneider’s EcoStruxure has three levels or layers, Connected Products, Edge Control
and Application, Analytics and Services that can be hosted on cloud as well as on
premise.

 EcoStruxure leverages the following technologies and trends—Mobility, Cloud, Sensing,

Analytics, and Cyber security.

 At Schneider Electric, we continue augmenting our capacity to deliver more, by

augmenting our core values, from reactive to predictive and preventive, from single site to
multi-site control, from closed system to collaborative systems, from data in-system to in-
cloud, and from monitoring to a sum of expanded capabilities in scheduling, planning,
simulating, managing assets, and managing the operations.
