Map of Catalunan Grande - Fernandez

[QGIS Step-By-Step Process]


FIRST of all When DONE:
 Open the QGIS Version 3.28.7 [Firenze] - Click New Print Layout
 Click Save As > File Name > --- You will be transferred to another tab ---
Fernandez_CatalunanGrande - Add Map and Adjust the Item Properties
 Click the New Empty Project > A4 - Portrait
- For easier tracking, ensure the Browser Panel and Layer Panel >Lock the Size of the Layout
[Width: 174.443 mm & Height: 262.495]
 View > Panels > Check Browser and Layers > Frame: Black and 0.05 inch
 Right Click the XYZ Tiles and Click Add New > Scale will depend on how you wanted to put it: 44999

: Create a Bordered Shape of Catalunan Grande
- Make sure that you have installed the PLUG-INS below: : Put the backgroud image of bordered barangays of Davao City
1. Quick OSM
to Gray
2. QuickMapServices
: Emphasized Catalunan Grande
- via Plugins > Manage and Install Plugins > Search for those
: Use the references to shape the processed image to the
- Click XYZ Tiles and Load the OpenStreetMap connection territory of Davao City with the neighboring cities
- Zoom in to Catalunan Grande
In QGIS:
Click QuickOSM : Add the image > Raster Image > Browse for the file > Adjust
- Key : Boundary & Value : Administrative
- In: Canva Extent NORTH ARROW
--- It must show the Administrative part solely in that Canvas --- - Click Add North Arrow > Adjust SVG Parameters
- Click Edit [Fill Color - Red] & [Stroke Color - Black]
- Select > Select Feature by Polygons>Select Catalunan Grande
- Right Click the Layer LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE:
- Export > Save Selected Feature As [File Name] - Click the Map > Find Item Properties
--- You should produce a file with only the Catalunan Grande --- - Grids > + > Modify Grid
- Grid Type: Frame and Annotations only
Raster Export CRS: Use Map CRS
- Export Map into Image and Put the Resolution into 300 dpi Interval: Map Units [ X: 0.0551 ; Y:0.05 ]
- Save File --- Name.tif Offset: [ X = 0.1 ; Y = 0.1 ]
- Click Open Data Resource Manager > Raster > Click the File Frame Style: Zebra
- Choose the Selected Outline [Frame Size: 3mm; Frame Line Thickness: 0.3
- Raster > Extraction > Clip Raster by Mask Layer - Check the Draw Coordinates
--- Ensure every details are align --- - Format: Degree, Minute with Suffix
- Run the Query Disable the coordinates for Left and Bottom [As Per Instructed]
--- You should have a Standalone Layer ---
LEGEND:
OSM Standard as a Background Map to Emphasize - Click Add Legend and Specify the Legend Items to be used
Catalunan Grande - Title: "LEGEND:"
- Right Click > Symbology > Brightness : -198 > Gamma : 1.75 > - Title and Item Labels' Font: Times New Roman
Contrast: 13 > Saturation: -100 [Columns: 2] & [Frame: 1 mm [Black]]
Adjust the Spacing and Background Color
Since we already have the Map to TRACE
- Click New Shapefile Layer HORIZONTAL SCALE:
--- For easier tracking, file name should be aligned to what you wanted to trace---
- Click Add Scale Bar and Set to kilometers
- Geometry Type: Polygon
- Segments [Right: 4] & 0.75 units
- Additional Dimensions: any available connections > OK.
To style the layer, right click the specific layer
- Click Properties > Symbology > Choose the desired colors, styles, etc. TITLEs and Other Label
- Click Add Label and Name the the Map Accordingly
Own: As for mine, I had shapefile the following contents: - Label the Structures
- Catalunan Grande Road : Catalunan Grande Elementary School
- Structures/Establishments/Houses [Based on OSM Map] : Catalunan Grande Barangay Hall
- Churches : Davao City Water District
- Villages
- Roads
- Rivers MARKERS and ARROWS
- Nature Park/Parks - Add markers and arrows to the desired location
Important Facilities to Include: - Style them on the desired item properties
- Catalunan Grande Barangay Hall - Label them accordingly
- Catalunan Grande Elementary School
- Davao City Water District When everything is all set:
- Save the file for future changes or purposes
To trace the specific parts of the map:
- Export the File to the desired file type
- Click Toggle Editing [Pencil Symbol]
- In my case, PNG Format
- Add Polygon Feature > Digitize with Segment
- Then Trace [As much as needed]
