and society, leaving them with no chance to alter their life trajectory, regardless of
whether they actually committed a crime or not.The story with its revolt against
injustice makes people bellow against the social inequalities, but at the same time,
gives them a golden liner that goodness and virtue can’t be overcome by extreme
and vulgar injustice. Through and through, Les Miserables can be referred to as an
epic which displays a fascinating plot with a very complex narrative, revealing the
story of Jean Valjean, a man of high moral standards and unshakable honesty.

blunders, but they say something about his humanity. On the other hand, his
generosity is the reason he deserves the title of a true hero. The character of

Les Miserables is a captivating and heart-throbbing saga that masterfully combines

the action and drama, making us speculate the unknown destiny of her characters,
as they go about the uncharted paths. It brings forth the tale of an individual's
struggle to break away from his or her past in a society where poverty and
ignorance are rampant. This literary piece that falls into the category of melodrama
shows us what we need to know. It is a lesson that, immaterial whether it was the
kind of offense we committed, we can never outrun the heaviness of our
conscience. It exposes us to the rough truth that we are standing in an inhumane
environment of oppression and inequality. It encourages us to be the eyes of the
blind, the feet of the lame, the hands of the paralytic, for by the heart of gold a
person can be. Moreover, it brings home that, after all, failures are an inescapable
part of life's process, but we should always remember that in the end, hope never
dies.
