1. Look at the photos and answer the questions.

• What are the people wearing?


• Which clothes from the photos do you sometimes wear?

2. Read the sentences about the photos and decide if you agree with them or
not. Say why/why not.
a) The woman’s clothes look casual.
b) The man feels uncomfortable in his clothes.
c) She looks like a friendly person.
d) He looks strange because he is inside but he is wearing a hat.
e) She feels like she has the best job in the world.
f) He looks like he doesn’t enjoy his work.

3. Read the sentences in ex. 2 again and choose the correct option in the
rules.
a) We use look and feel + adjective/noun.
b) We use look like and feel like + noun or adjective/noun or sentence.

4. Add the word like to four of these sentences.


a) When I come home and take my shoes off, I feel I can finally relax.
b) When I want to feel comfortable, I wear a tracksuit.
c) When I put on my pyjamas, I feel the happiest person in the world.
d) I wear gloves when I feel cold.
e) When I want to look attractive, I wear a suit.
f) It’s important that my clothes look they’re expensive.

5. Decide if the sentences in ex. 4 are true for you. In pairs, explain why/why
not.

6. You are going to watch an ad for ‘the most comfortable shirt in the world’.
Guess which two things in the box you will see in the ad. Explain your
choice.

8. Match the halves.

polyester? Why?
• What keeps you warm on cold days? What keeps you cool
on hot days? Think about clothes, food, activities, etc.
