I. COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT
Providing a collection of information resources which will support present
and future research needs of the university community.
II. SERVICE TO USERS
Providing bibliographic services and personal assistance to aid library users
in identifying, locating and using resources.
III. COLLECTION MAINTENANCE
Organizing, maintaining, controlling, preserving and securing the collection
for maximum utilization
IV. LIBRARY PROMOTION
Promoting the use of the Libraries and their information resources
V. RESOURCE SHARING
Sharing resources with other institutions, in order to improve access to
resources for users.
VI. REMOTE ACCESS
Providing remote access to library resources.
Participate in and improve existing outreach and extension programs.
Develop new facilities to extend high-quality services to remote users.
VII. ADMINISTRATION AND FACILITIES
Providing an appropriate space and environment, and administrative
support, for research and study/services and activities.
Identify equipment, space, technical resources, and personnel to support
the best possible reference service.
Encourage staff development and contributions to librarianship through
formal and informal recognition, travel to conferences, other
professional opportunities, compensation, and training.
Pursue meaningful involvement with appropriate local, state, regional and
national programs which involve information access to address societal
issues
