In regards to prioritizing secure information, fast efficient workflow, and better teamwork within

the group, the implementation of a Block Chain would provide all of these if not more benefits to

the IT team and the company as a whole. A Block Chain is a P2P database system that is

formatted as a structure with pieces that are immutable, unable to be altered once published on

the ledger. To bring this to life there are a multitude of steps that need to be taken in order not

just to have a successful launch, but also a steady/efficient addition to the company. The

planned concept revolves around this being made to assist the IT department in multiple areas

such as faster ticket resolution, secure/immovable record keeping, and improvements to

teamwork. This would require a full teams effort to bring to life as well as a proper backup to

coincide in case there is no possible reality for a Block Chain to be made.

Visually Block Chains are known to be transparent in that most of the information from

whatever transaction or record was made. Whether it be information based on an employee or a

client, this is designed to be viewed by anyone in the team without it being able to be tampered

with. The information being that way is a huge benefit as it removes cases of possible fraud and

situations of data loss due to a unforeseen mistake.

To create the database we will have to provide the proof of concept involving the ideal look and

use for this system. It would also be required to plan out the proper architecture and Block Chain

platform even though visually it would be pretty similar to those you would find elsewhere.

Smart contracts within the Block Chain’s code that automatically implements actions that are in

company guidelines which helps in removing conflicts between different partners.

For development Block Chains generally utilize a language known as Solidity, but many of the

basic coding languages can also be used like C++, Java, Python, and Ruby. One benefit that

comes with this is that Block Chains use their own source code as their own software, so no
other license or intergraded software is required when using Block Chains. Basically, the

company can choose which type of language it would like to utilize to build the Block Chain

databases upon whichever is most convenient for them. Convenience would be found by

matching up whatever current programs are being used and aligning them with this new addition

to the workplace. Testing would also be done between each language in order to find which

aligns with what the team is using most and which would be most beneficial to the company in

cost and in accessibility.

Next would be the process of releasing the integration to the workplace which is expected to

bring with it lots of errors and troubleshooting as any new addition to workflow would.

Installation is already a hefty job as every computer in the office/workplace would have to be

updated to utilize the new Block Chain which in itself could take days or even weeks to complete

depending on the size of the company. Launch of the Block Chain is going to be when it is most

vulnerable and susceptible to failure, but as long as that is expected and dealt with then

installation should be successful.

Once a steady pace has been met with the new program, maintaining it will be the next priority.

Now information wise it is intangible to whatever has been put inside cannot come back out or

be changed. Because of this most of the maintaining of the program would revolve around bug

fixes or updates to the code itself to ensure it can do the best job possible at a reasonable rate.

In conclusion it is common knowledge that any new addition to an already working system is to

be met with struggle and uncertainty. However these positives of higher security value and team

value can reward us with greater benefits in the long run. The IT center can grow exponentially

and become a central unit that can intake and solve problems with greater ease as long as this

gets the valued integration it so rightfully deserves.
