3. Attention to All Current II Year/III Year UG (Except Integrated MSc) Students:

As a part of the award of BTech degree, it is mandatory for you to do Summer/ research
Internship/ Engineering Projects in community service (EPICS). This is a mandatory program core
course (PCC) whose grades will be reflecting for 2 credits with XX449 course code in VII Semester.

Following are the guidelines:


 Every student has to undergo either Summer/research Internship or EPICS Project (XX449)
 The summer internship may be undergone in an industry/Research organization or any premier
academic Institution, including NIT Warangal for 6-8 weeks.
 Alternatively, the EPICS/ research project shall be registered under the guidance of any faculty
member in the institute.
 After finishing Summer/research Internship/EPICs, one copy of the duly signed report is required
to submit in the department. Other copy may be retained with you.
 This can be carried out either of the summers after finishing II Year or III Year
 Student should submit the report and present the work before an evaluation committee,
nominated by the Head of the Department
 Grades of this Summer/ research Internship or EPICS Project (XX449) will reflect in their VII
semester grade sheets

 Kindly note that, the above Summer/research Internship/Engineering Projects in community
service (EPICS) is different from Semester Internship permitted through CCPD during VIII
Semester for eligible candidates. Work carried out in Semester Internship (VIII semester) will
be considered for project work (XX499) for 4credits evaluation during VIII semester project
work evaluation.

6. Prof. A.V. Ramana Rao Memorial Gold Medal – Winner for the Academic Year 2023-24:

Alumni of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering have instituted a Gold
Medal in the name of the Late Prof. A.V. Ramana Rao every year to the best outgoing final year
student of the department. In response to the applications received for the Late Prof. A.V. Ramana
Rao Memorial Gold Medal from the final year B.Tech. (MME) students, the following student has been
selected as the Gold Medal winner for the academic year 2023-24:
 Ms. Daksha Pankaj Zawar (Roll No. 205115)
The faculty and students of the Department congratulate Ms. Daksha P. Zawar on her
achievement.

The Gold Medal will be awarded to the winner at function to be held in the Department on
April 19th, 2024, 2.30 PM, MMED Seminar Hall (2nd Floor).

7. Ph.D. Pre-Synopsis Presentation – Department of E C E:

The Ph.D. Pre-Synopsis Presentation of Mrs. V. Roopa (Roll No. 701935), a Full-time
Research scholar in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department under the
supervision of Dr. Himansu Shekhar Pradhan, is scheduled on 18th April, 2024 (Thursday) at
3:00 PM in ECE Conference Hall. The presentation will cover her research work titled “Blockchain
Oriented Deep Learning based Dynamic Spectrum Access for Next Generation Wireless
Networks”. All interested Faculty members and students are cordially invited to attend the
presentation.

8. Ph.D. Viva-Voce Examination - Civil Engineering Department:

The Ph.D. Viva-Voce examination of Mr. Khalil Ahmad Kakar (Roll No. 717008), full-time
research scholar under the supervision of Prof. CSRK Prasad, Department of Civil Engineering, is
scheduled on April 19, 2024 (Friday) at 11:00 AM in the Homi Bhaba Hall of the Seminar Hall
Complex. The thesis title is “Bus Rapid Transit System and Land Use Relationship with Mode
Choice”. All interested faculty members, research scholars, and students are invited to attend the
Ph.D. viva-voce examination.
