The contexts for the emergence of anti feminism on the social media

The movement of “indonesia tanpa feminis” emerged within the contexts of the 2019 election and the
campaign to pass the Bill of Sexual Violence Eradication.

The movement is supported by anti feminist activist, religious leaders, and indirectly by a political party.

ANTI FEMINIST ARGUMENTS :

 Dinar dewi kania, a researcher at the INSISTS and the chair for the study section of the
indonesian alliance for family love AILA says that “indonesia does not need feminism because
islam has already treat muslim women honorably and assumes that feminism attempts to
legalize adultery and LGBT.
 Shelly purnama, a religious preacher says, “feminism is a treat to the family institution”
 The indonesian alliance for family lov AILA-spreads the propaganda for anti LGBT
