As managers respond to the challenge of solving problems creatively, the four major

functions have been categorized to four - Planning, Organizing, Leading, and

Controlling.

1. Which do you think is the most challenging function among the four? Why?

• Controlling – it is the most challenging function in management because it

was based on the actual performance of the managements such as KPIs
monitoring, Risk Management and Real-Time Minitoring
2. Have you observed these four functions in your company managers? If you will

evaluate their performance in terms of these four functions, can you say that they

are effective? Cite instances that you have observed or experienced.

• Currently I work in a government agency. As observed their professional

type of management and I think it was because of the training they
attended and have been applied on the flow of the management.
3. If you are to add another major function of a manager to these four, what will it

be? Why?

• Coordinating acknowledges the importance of synergy and collaboration

within an organization, which is essential for maximizing productivity and
achieving strategic goals. This function complements the other elements of
the PLOC framework by ensuring that all the planning, organizing,
leading, and controlling activities are effectively integrated and aligned
toward common objectives.
