Instruction (2) The information contained in this stability manual is in an approved form, in accordance with Regulation 10(2) of chapter Il, Annex { of the International Convention on Load Lines, 1966 (2) It has been verified from the ship's basic data, included in this booklet, that all typical loaded conditions shown except Lightship / Docking condition meet the criteria given in paragraph 3.1 & 3.2 of the IMO Resolution A749 and Part B-1 ( Reg.25-1 ~ 25-10, SUBDIVISION AND DAMAGE STABILITY OF CARGO SHIPS ) of Chapter Il-1 of the 1990 Anendnents to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974. ‘The master shall coaply with the criteria of stability which are shown on page 63-67 (MINIM OPERATIONAL GoM TABLE) in any ioading conditions. (3) The freeboard of this ship is to be assigned complying with "TYPE B" vf "International Convention on Load Lines, 1966" on the condition that still water bending moment, shearing force and torsional monent in any loading condition should not exceed the given values from classification society. (Refer to page 8-9) (4) Scantlings approved for minimum fore draft of 4.9205 m (Bxt.). In heavy weather conditions the fore draft should not be less than this value LE, in the option of the Master, sea conditions are likely to cause regular slamming, then other appropriate measures such as change in speed, heading or an increase in fore draft may also need to be taken. (5) Statically stability curve (GZ) and transverse metacenter (KNT) of the typical conditions are calculated based on trimmed condition (6) The free surface effect of slack tank is considered as specified on "Notes on use of free surface effects" in this booklet. (Refer to page 85) (7) The values of liquids at departure/arrival conditions are taken into account as follows TEM, ‘SPEC. GRAVITY DEPARTURE. (10) CARRIAGE OF SPECIAL / OVER-SIZED CARGOES 1) Dangerous Goods can be stowed’ in accordance with CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS GF SHIPS CARRYING DANGEROUS GOODS issued under the provisions of Reg.54 of Ch. If-2 of the 1981 Amendnents to SOLAS 1974 by the Administration. 2) High-cube of 9ft 6in high containers can be loaded at top tier(7/8"") in all container holds, and on all hatch cover / deck. 3) 400 FEU(40°x8'x8°6") of the refrigerated containers of se! f-contained type can be stowed at the designated locations on hatch covers, 4) From the 3rd to 6th tier at bay no. 14,22,30,38,46,54,62, 45 FT length containers can be stowed on deck. (12) SPECIAL NOTES REGARDING THE OPERATION OF SHIP ~ General precautions against capsizing 1) Compliance with the stability criteria does not ensure immunity against capsizing, regardless of the circumstance, or absolve the master from his responsibilities. Masters should therefore exercise prudence and good seamanship having regard to the season of the year, weather forecasts and the navigational zone and should take the appropriate action as to speed and course warranted by the prevailing circunstances 2) Care should be taken to ensure that the cargo allocated to the ship is capable of being stowed so that compliance with the criteria can be achieved. If necessary, the anount should be limited to the extent that ballast weight may be required. 3) Before c voyage conmences, care should be taken to ensure that the cargo and sizable pieces of equipment have been properly stored or lashe so as to minimize the possibitity of both longitudinal and lateral shifting while at sea, under the ef fect of acceieration caused by rolling and pitching. 4) The master should note that stability can be adversely affected by such influences as bear wind on ships wit Large windage area, icing on ton sides and deck cargo, wate, trapped on deck and in deck cargo, rolling characteristics and following seas. ~ Ballasting / Deballast ing 1) The number of partially filled or slack tanks should be kept toa minigun because of their adverse effects on stability. 2) The master of the ship is required to keep in mind that the ballast ing / debal last ing on a voyage should be performed careful ly under considering the effect of free surtace of ballast water and carried out in a short time. 3) When i intended to fill or empty water ballast tanks during a voyage, the master should, prior to departure, ensure that the required stability criteria would be maintained at all times. (13) INFORMATION FOR SUBDIVISION AND DAMAGE STABILITY The detail information has been made in accordance with Reg.23-1, 25-8 and 25-9 of Part B-1, Chap. II-1 to the 1990 anenduents of the SOLAS i974 and furnished separately as a finished drawing of “DAMAGE CONTROL PLAN(Dng.. No. B021-300).” When the ship is at sea, the master should keep in mind and follow the notice as stated below. NOTICE | 1. Care should be taken to keep Minimum operating GoM value (Refer to page 63~67) during voyage in order to obtain ample stability. 2. When the ship has a large list or severe trim due to flooding, she should be corrected by means of ballast/discharge/transfer liquid in ballast tanks within the allowable stability and longitudinal strength of the ship. And also, the satisfactory a:rangements should be made to maintain the watertight integrity of the adjacent compartments, such as below ; ~ Should be closed all access doors and hatches which are left open - Should be closed valves and other closing appliances which are situated within the flooded compartment. 3. All watertight/weathertight doors and hatches should be kept closed while at sea. and the use of watertight door shall be authorized by watch officer. 4, When the ship is at sea, the watch officer should confirm the open/ close condition of the watertight doors by means of indicator panel which is fitted on Navigation bridge.
