Admiralty E-NP Reader – Version 1.3 - FTP closure

Earlier this year, the ADMIRALTY (UKHO) announced their intention to deprecate their FTP server at the end of the
current year.

With this change in service, the Admiralty e-NP standalone e-reader version will lose the ability to update via
Internet as the files used during the update process are hosted on the Admiralty’s FTP server.

All e-NP reader subscribers still using this older version of the software will need to upgrade their installation
before the end of the year, either to the latest version of the software (version 1.4) or the E-NP reader SDK
available from within the OneOcean platform.

This upgrade should be carried on all the computers where version 1.3 of the standalone e-NP reader is installed.

How to verify if you are affected

If you are already viewing your e-NP reader subscriptions through the OneOcean platform, you are not affected by
this issue, no changes are required.

If you are using the standalone e-NP reader, start the software, navigate to the Tools section, and select User
Settings Tool. Verify the version displayed as per below:

If the version displayed is 1.3 or earlier, you will need to upgrade, please refer to the instructions on the next page.

How to upgrade

There are two options to make sure that your e-NP subscription will be updatable, upgrade the standalone
software to version 1.4 or change to the e-NP reader available in the OneOcean platform.

Upgrading to version 1.4 (preferred)

The easiest way is to upgrade to the standalone version of the e-NP reader software as follows:

• Download the E-NP reader software from our CloudSync portal here

• Unzip the software installer

• Run the software installer “e-NP_Reader_1.4” (Previous versions of the software do not need to be
uninstalled)

• Run the software and verify that the application is running as expected.

Transferring to the OneOcean in-built E-NP reader

To use all the advantages of the OneOcean platform, you can choose to transfer your e-NP subscription to
use the In-built e-NP reader within OneOcean as follows:

• Start the Standalone e-NP reader and go to the Tools section and select the User Settings tool.
Look at the PC Activation Name (Master, Backup or Reserve)

• In an e-mail, list the PC Activation name(s) that you would like to changeover and send this to our
support team (support@oneocean.com) advising that you would like to transfer your e-NP reader
subscription to the OneOcean e-NP reader SDK within OneOcean.

• Our support team will clear your existing e-NP installations from your record and will send you a
confirmation via e-mail to confirm when this has been done.

• Upon receiving the e-mail confirmation from our support team, start the OneOcean software, it
will automatically attempt to activate the e-NP reader software as part of the normal connection
process.

• Once the data update process has completed, restart the OneOcen software, go to the Digital
Publications Module, and click on an active e-NP publication to view its content.
