ESSAY

Could you imagine your son being a pick-pocketer? This is a possible situation that we could
face nowadays, since crime rates have risen amongst young people. It is a fact that more
and more teenagers are becoming criminals (and not only potentially). One question arises,
which is the main cause or causes that are making our beloved youth people who are
entering into the dark side of life? The purpose of this essay is to talk about these causes
and its aftermath.

First of all, I would like to remark that parental influence is vital in shaping a child's character,
moral values, and decision-making abilities. That’s why the lack of control exerted by parents
can cause a change in their children’s behavior. Parents should give their sons a firm
education so children don’t get involved in criminal activities.

Parents' inability to provide guidance and sense of right and wrong, may cause young
individuals to turn to their friends for acceptance. Due to that, friendships also play an
important role in young people's decisions, so a negative influence and pressure can push
them into criminal activities. Also, the fear of being isolated in a friend’s group, can engage
them in delinquency.

In conclusion, the void left by parental absence can make them more vulnerable to engaging
in criminal activities as they seek belonging and validation from their social circles. That’s
why it’s important to increase measures to push healthy relationships.
