Can you give some information about you?

My name is Sevinch. I am a student in INHA University in Korea.

What do you see as the most serious issue in the community affecting people in your age?

I think a significant issue in our community is the lack of personalized guidance for students. Each student
has unique needs and aspirations, and having more tailored support would greatly enhance their chances
of success in studying abroad.

Why do you see this as the most serious issue for you?

For me, personalized guidance is crucial because everyone's journey is different. Without individualized
support, some students might struggle to find the right path or miss out on opportunities that align with
their specific goals and interests. Understanding the intricacies of each student's aspirations and financial
circumstances is challenging, especially given the diverse interests among the student body. The demand
for studying abroad is high, making it impractical for consulting agencies to cater to each individual
student's needs. While they may provide general guidance, it's important to acknowledge the inherent
complexity of managing a large volume of students, each with their distinct interests and financial
considerations.

What do you believe is the best solution to the issue?

Engaging in mentorship programs or empowering students to independently navigate their paths are
promising solutions. The guidance of a mentor who comprehends the intricacies of studying abroad would
offer invaluable support to students like me. To make this assistance accessible, an immediate and
practical option is to develop an online course or video blog. Covering a spectrum from selecting a field
based on personal interests to navigating university choices, applying for scholarships, managing visa
processes, securing placements, excelling academically, handling financial challenges, and addressing
post-visit documentation, such a comprehensive course could potentially benefit up to 10,000 students.
By enhancing their knowledge, we aim to reduce the reliance on consulting agencies, empowering students
to make informed decisions on their educational journeys.
How would you participate in the proposed solution?

I would be eager to participate in a mentorship program, either as a mentee or mentor. Sharing experiences
and insights can create a more supportive and nurturing environment within our community. It's about
fostering connections and helping each other navigate the exciting but sometimes overwhelming journey
of studying abroad.

Can you tell about your experience?

Having personally undergone the university application process and currently studying at INHA University
in Korea, I previously applied to universities in the US, Australia, Canada, UK, and Poland. Reflecting on the
more than two years it took me to grasp the complexities of the visa process and university selection, I
recognized the need to share my experiences. Now, as a community, our mission is to assist young students
in choosing universities. Similar to the potential of mentorship programs, we aim to empower students to
independently navigate their educational paths. This comprehensive resource would cover everything
from selecting a field based on personal interests to managing visa processes, excelling academically, and
handling financial challenges. By sharing this knowledge, we aspire to streamline the journey for future
students, reducing the time spent and empowering them to make informed decisions on their educational
journeys, much like I wished for during my own experiences.
