Primary Mission 5: Taint the Saint

In the heart of the besieged city, Imperium forces rally around the revered Saint Ardanis, their faith unwavering despite the
encroaching darkness. The Ecclesiarchy have failed to remove the relic from the planet and it now lies vulnerable.

With banners raised high and prayers fervently uttered, the Imperium form a protective bulwark against the insidious
whispers of Chaos. As malevolent entities claw at the edges of reality, seeking to corrupt the saint's divine aura, the
defenders stand resolute, ready to sacrifice all in the name of preserving the sanctity of their revered icon. The clash of
arms and the roar of daemonic incantations reverberate through the city streets, where the fate of the saint may seal the
fate of the rest of the sector.

Scenario Specifics:

 Primary Mission Rules: The Ritual


 Deployment: Crucible of Battle
 Mission Rule: Chilling Rain (no effect)

Mission Specific Rules:

 Embrace the Relic – The winner of Secure the Last of the Archeotech gains an additional enhancement. This
enhancement may be used on a character that already has an enhancement.
 Reinforcements – At the end of Battle Round 3, open the Reinforcements envelope
 The Saint – Place Triumph model as centre objective. A unit most be within 1” to control it.

Secondary objectives are to be used in this mission


Primary Mission 6: Hold the Line
The planet is lost but its people fight on. The loss of the populous would be a major blow to the moral of the Imperium.
Chaos entities see the opportunity to seize a major resource in their eternal war. As the Imperium forces attempt to
organize an exodus of the planet, they must hold the line against the tenacious forces of Chaos seeking to overwhelm
escaping ships.

Scenario Specifics:

 Primary Mission Rules: Holding the line (see below)


 Deployment: Stand your Ground (see below)
 Mission Rule: Minefields

Mission Specific Rules:

 Rapid Reaction Force – At the Declare Reserves and Transports step, at least half, but no more than
three quarters, the Defender’s (Imperium) units must start the battle in Strategic Reserves (roughly by
points – also includes units within transports. Make a note on the Defenders roster of each unit that
started the battle on the battlefield.
 Ready and waiting – Defender has first turn
 Crush Them - Each time a Defender’s unit, that did not start the battle in Strategic Reserves, is
destroyed, the Attacker (Chaos) scores a number of victory points equal to twice that unit’s total
wounds.
 Hammer Through - At the end of the battle, for each unit in the Attacker’s army that is wholly within the
Target Zone, the Attacker scores a number of victory points equal to that unit’s total wounds.
 Stood their Ground - At the end of the battle, for each destroyed unit in the Attacker’s army, the
Defender scores a number of victory points equal to twice that unit’s total wounds.

Do not use secondary objectives for this mission.


Secondary Mission 5: Reinforcements
In the dire crucible of the besieged city, the struggle for dominance rages on as both Imperium and Chaos forces converge
upon the sacred grounds where the saint stands as a beacon of hope amidst the encroaching darkness. The Imperium,
bolstered by unwavering faith, marshals its forces to reinforce the protective cordon around the saint, determined to shield
their holy luminary from the insidious taint of Chaos. Meanwhile, the forces of Chaos, driven by malevolent fervor, seek to
break through the Imperial lines and corrupt the saint, turning the once-pure beacon into a harbinger of their dark
dominion.

 Deployment: Sweeping Engagement
 Mission Rule: Sweep and Clear

Mission Specific Rules:

 Race Against the Clock – The game has only 3 battle rounds
 Reinforcements – At the end of Battle Round 3, open the Reinforcements envelope

Secondary Mission 6: Artillery Bombardment
In the heart of the war-torn battlefield lies an abandoned artillery emplacement, its rusted cannons silent witnesses to the
carnage that surrounds them. Both Imperium and Chaos forces converge upon this strategic relic of warfare, each faction
vying for control over the dormant weapons that could turn the tide of battle in their favor. As the clash ensues, the air
reverberates with the thunder of gunfire and the roar of engines, echoing the desperate struggle for dominance over the
battered landscape. Amidst the chaos of combat, soldiers fight tooth and nail, their determination unyielding as they seek
to claim the abandoned emplacement and unleash its formidable firepower upon their foes. With each passing moment,
the fate of the battlefield hangs in the balance, with victory hinging on the ability of one side to secure control over the
dormant artillery and wield its destructive might to devastating effect.

 Mission Rule: Rain Fire

Mission Specific Rules:

 Control the Guns – The central objective represents a primary command node (worth 2 objectives for Rain of
Fire), the others represent secondary command nodes (worth 1 objective for Rain of Fire).
 Rain of Fire – During the command phase, if you control more objectives than your opponent, you may fire the
artillery targeting an enemy unit on any other game board. Roll 8d6, for each 3+ you deal 1MW to the target unit.
