The 28th annual Wayne invitational will draw 78 teams from all over the state of Ohio as well as

Kentucky. This 2 day meet will be held at Troy High School this year, as Wayne’s new track
isn’t completed yet. The format will remain the same, with a few tweaks in some events. What
hasn’t changed is the quality of athletes in ALL events contested. Each event will showcase top
talent in sprints, distance and field events.

Here’s a short preview of what to expect- MEN’S ENTRIES

Host school; the Wayne Warriors have a special young sprinter in freshman Jamier-Averette
Brown. He owns PR’s in the 100m (10.56) and 200m (21.52 OH #2), however, Brookville’s Coy
Hyre (Ohio #1) owns a PR of 10.49 and is the favorite to beat in the 100m dash. This event
boasts 14 athletes with sub 11 second entry marks. Others to watch will be Dorian Williams
(Princeton 10.69),Micquan Gravely (Cleveland Glenville 10.70), Nick Robinson (Olentangy
Orange 10.73), Okiki Adeniyi (Westerville North 10.77), Mason Coffman (Washington
Courthouse 10.80), Kamron Payne (Fairmont 10.81), Jordan Gross ( Vandalia Butler 10.82),
Ethan Logan (Covington Catholic Ky 10.83), Reggie Tate (Westerville North 10.88), Xavier
Wilson (Thurgood Marshall 10.92), Jamie Priest (Trotwood 10.92) and Rayzier Jones (Fairfield
10.99).

In the 200m dash, Nick Robinson (Olentangy Orange) comes in with a best time of 21.37,
followed by Averette-Brown (21.52), Hyre (21.60 OH #3), Gross (21.74), and Adeniyi (21.75).

Cleveland Heights Michael Middleton (Indoor Div 1 state Champion) brings a 47.10 into the
meet, followedBeavercreeks Kaden Ellerbe owns a PR of 48.00 in the 400. Westerville’s Okiki
Adeniyi (49.47), Butler’s Brayden Thaxton (49.65), St. Xavier Gavin Pelzel (49.71) and Jaedon
Chase of Westerville North (49.81) lead an impressive field.

Kory Davis of Brookville owns an impressive time of 14.12, and is the clear favorite. William
Bauman of Westerville North also has a fast time (14.44) and will challenge Davis, as well as
Logan Wilkins of Fairmont (14.62). In the 300 Hurdles, Beavercreek’s Liam Gluck (38.06 OH
#1), Davis of Brookville (38.86) and Bauman of Westerville North (39.30) are the top three
entered marks. Centerville’s Sopuluchi should also be in the mix.

Relays - Meet Records 4x100 Wayne 41.80 1999, 4x200 1:27.35 Mason 2013, 4x400 3:18.12

Wayne holds the fastest 4x100 for all registered teams with a seasons best time of 42..21 - OH
#2, followed by Kings (42.75), Waynesville (42.94) and Westerville North (42.97). In the 4x200,
Wayne and Glenville have the only sub 1:30 time, with a season’s best of 1:28.56 (OH#2) and
1:29.83, respectively. In the 4x400, Beavercreek owns the best time of 3:21.25 (OH #1),
followed by Cleveland Heights 3:22.32(OH #2), Cleveland Glenville 3:27.63 and Westerville
North 3:27.78.

The 3200 Meter run has become the premier event in years past, and this year is no different.
The event sports 10 athletes that have gone sub 9:20 lead by Saketh Rudrafaju of Olentangy
Orange, who owns a PR of 9:05.46. But less than a half second from him is Ryan Smith of
Worthington Kilbourne at 9:05.95. Samuel Ricchiuti of Dublin Jerome is at 9:06.04, Weston Day
of Dublin Scioto has a time of 9:07.94, and Ben Gableman is at 9:08.22 (OH#2), Joey Carroll of
Connor KY is at 9:08.24, while Colin Cemansky of Marlington rounds out the sub 9:10 runners
with his PR of 9:09.73. Eli Ilg of Massilon Jackson (9:12.69), Dylan Wood of Copley (9:16.06),
Matthew Schroff of Olentangy Orange (9:21.33) and Asher Long of Covington (9:21.76) round
out an impressive field.

In the 1600 M run, defending champion Ben Gableman of Westerville North comes back to
defend his 2023 title, coming in with a PR time of 4:08.49. Zane Schorr of Lancaster comes in
at 4:18.88, Micah Smith of Springboro (4:18.91) and Charles Guerrera of Dublin Jerome 4:21.00
rounds out the top 4 entered.

The 800 M run is loaded with 17 athletes with sub 2 minutes marks, led by Lebanon’s Calvin
Kilgallon’s 1:52.73. But he will be challenged by Nicholas Hoelscher from Westerville North,
who has gone 1:53.79 and Lancaster Wes Taylor (1:54.20). Don’t count out St. Xavier’s Evan
Trapp (1:55.38) or Oak Hills Brayden Holland (1:55.55), Darron Porter (Northmont 1:55.64),
Cameron Carn (London 1:55.94) and Beavercreek’s Jackson Davis (1:56.04).

The Distance Medley potentially could have a meet record broke, as Tippecanoe comes in with
an impressive 10:12.96 but should be challenged by Centerville, St. Xavier and Troy. The
4x800 relay team from Lancaster (8:07.86) is the team to beat, but watch out for Ottowa-
Glandorf (8:09.23) who make their Wayne Invitational debut. Westerville North is also a team to
watch, coming in with a time of 8:10.75, as well as Covington Catholic KY (8:11.18) and Connor
KY (8:13.94)

In the Pole Vault, Wayne’s Eric Pugh (15-9 outdoors OH#3, but 16-4 indoors, DIV 1 state champ) is
the top vaulter, while Cade Shellhaas from Ansonia comes in with a best of 14-0. In the Long Jump,
Will Bauman of Westerville North has in impressive 23-2 jumped, followed by Wayne’s Key’Shawn
Garrett’s 22-2. Garrett also leads all triple jumpers with a personal best of 44-3.5, followed by Denis
Shislo of Hilliard Bradley (43-7). In the high jump, Glenville’s Rayne Williams owns a best of 6-6,
and Centerville’s Sopuluchi Anosike has cleared 6-5, followed by Lancaster Eli Roush -Springfield’s
Darrien Stapleton, and Wayne’s Antonio Enayzi, all have cleared 6-4.Trey Sellers (Tipp) and
Ka’maurri Smith (Wayne) have cleared 6-3.

Field Events - Throws

In the shot put, Spencer Brower of Wayne Trace comes in with a top throw of 57-1, teammate Noah
Fetters comes in with a throw of 53-4.25. In the discus, Troy’s Devon Strobel has the best throw of
179-2(OH #3), followed by Fetters (167-10) and Charlie Schimiesing of Minster (165-5). In the
hammer throw, MIami East Levi Glassmeyer owns the best mark of 171-0, followed closely by
Hilliard Davidsons Turner Schmidt (170-4). Wayne’s Larreon Brodie (165-1) and Jonah Jenkins
(153-3) close out the top 4 throwers in the event.

100 Meter dash is led by the Wayne trio of Ric’Keya White (11.76), Te’aira Branham-Patrick
(11.82) and Trinity Bibbs (11.91) as well as Trotwood’s Mariah Day (11.94) lead the sprinters in
this event. Watch for Connors Isabella Vonelhman (12.01), Delany Jones (West Liberty Salem
12.19), Gahanna Lincoln’s Aliyah Bennett (12.40) and Brionna Wright (12.41) and Chloe
Williams of Chaminade Julienne (12.46) make up a pretty impressive speed group.

200-meter dash is led again by the Wayne duo of Te’aira Branham-Patrick (24.25) and (OH #5)
Trinity Bibbs (24.42). Gahanna Lincoln’s Keena Sanders (24.53), Mariah Day of Trotwood
(24.61), Aliyah Bennett of Gahanna Lincoln (24.53), Kayliegh Keyes Beavercreek (24.86) and
Isabella Vonelhman of Connor (24.99) round out the top 7 athletes in the event (sub 25
seconds)

Former state champion Kayleigh Keyes(OH#2 currently) of Beavercreek owns the top 400
meter time of 55.12, followed by Valley Views Hayden Sorrell (57.93), Hilliard Davidson’s Celia
Schulte (58.49), Butler’s Natalie Schoenherr (59.05), Leila Evans of Cleveland Heights (59.34),
Westerville North’s Cici Harris (59.60), Khatlyn Rufaro of Thurgood Marshall (59.77), Aliyah
Bennett of Gahanna Lincoln (59.81) and Tippecanoe’s Alissa Magato (59.93) round out the sub
60 second runners.

Ric’Keya White of Wayne is the top 100h (#2 in Ohio) and 300h in the field, owning personal
best times of 13.98 and 43.12, respectively. She is the clear cut favorite to win both events.

In the 1600, Waynesville Samantha Erbach(OH#1) is the only sub 5 minute athlete entered.
Her best is 4:51.32 which could threaten the meet record. She is followed by Minster’s
Margaret Hemmelgarn (5:08.12), Hilliard Davidson’s Ashley Alsko (5:08.48), West Liberty
Salem's Ashley Yoder (5:11.69), Adrianna Luking of Talawanda (5:11.81), Dayton Christian’s
Isabella Ferriman (5:13.72), Hilliard Davidson Emi Schroyer (5:14.76) and Beavercreek’s
Mallory Abrham (5:18.08), rounding out the top 8 athletes that are sub 5:20.

In the 3200, Lauren Zanotelli of Miamisburg is the favorite, entered in at 10:42.37, followed by
Talawanda’s Lucia Rodbro (10:50.72 OH #3), Natalie Fouts of Dublin Jerome (10:54.20), Erica
Kaulen of HIlliard Davidson (11:00.33), Brooke Chapman of Olentangy Orange (11:12.68),
Delany Cahill of Oakwood (11:13.02), Anna Thurman of Carroll (11:14.14), Helen Randolph of
Dublin Jerome (11:14.38) and Waynesvilles Samantha Erbach (11:17.51) round out the top 9
sub 11:20 athletes.

The 800 meter will showcase Cellia Schulte of Hilliard Davidson, who owns a personal best of
2:11.32, which could also threaten the meet record. Samantah Erbach of Waynesville is also
entered (2:13.53), as well as Cleveland Heights Jane Mueller (2:17.32), Lebanon’s Hannah
Glassmeyer (2:17.67) and Annie Neff-Isom of Oakwood (2:19.96). Ottawa-Glandorf owns the
state leading 4x800(9:32.83) but will not compete this meet)

Relays-

In the sprint relays, Wayne’s 4x100 comes in with the fastest time of 47.91, while Gahanna
Lincoln (48.29) and Chaminade Julienne (49.48) will challenge). The 4x200 will be Gahanna
Lincoln (1:41.33), Wayne (1:42.29),Centerville (1:44.38) and Beavercreek (1:44.41).
The 4x400 will be a battle of the top three teams coming in, which are Hilliard Davidson
(4:04.35), Beavercreek(4:04.65) and Gahanna Lincoln (4:06.29)

In the Discus, Tahjaie Clark-Crowley of Springfield leads the field wit a throw of 133-4 followed by
Emma Hayes of Reed Eastern (125-7), Springfield Northwestern’s Taylor Scott(125-6), Springboro Leah
Farley (124-1) and Kendra Detillon of Zane Trace (123-8).

In the Shot put - Clark-Crowley is the lone 40 footer (40-3.25), followed by Detillon (38-9), Tatyana Green
of Troy (37-11.5), Scott of Springfield Northwestern (37-95), Aveon Steven of Valley View (37-0.75) and
Troy’s Kiyah Baker (37-0)
In the Hammer Throw -Payten Butler of Kings comes in with a toss of 132-3, followed closely by Wayne
Sydney Williams (131-8) and Kelly Horky of Centerville (130-8).

High Jump- with 8 jumpers of 5-4, London’s Andria Pollazek (OH#1), who comes in at 5-6, followed by
Grace Wright of Fairmont (5-5OH #4), Brooke Haywood and Grace Wright of Chaminade Julienne (5-4
each), Centerville freshman Alyssa Grim (5-4), Greenville Addie Klosterman (5-4), Tierra Johnson of
Springfield (5-4) and Lily Orosz of Ursuline Academy (5-4)
In the Pole Vault -5 girls come in with a vault over 11-6 led by Lehman Catholic Katie McFarland, who has
cleared 12-8, followed by Ansonia’s Colleen Steinmetz (12-6 currently #1 in Ohio), Aubrey Mullins of
Wayne (11-9), Lillian Finke of London (11-8) and Mirabelle Thornton of Worthington Kilbourne (11-6).

In the long jump, Delaney Jones of West Liberty Salem comes in with the number 4 jump in the state of
18-4.75, followed by Claire Downer of Chaminade Julienne (17-5), Cici Harris of Westerville North (17-
4.5) and Valley View’s Kennedy Underwood (17-0.75). In the triple jump, Beavercreek Emma Van Horn
(34-2.75) and Wayne Aubrey Mullins (34-1) are leading the pack.

So sit back, and enjoy two days of Ohio’s finest track and field athletes as they compete at this
invitational. There should be some personal best times, as well as a few meet records broken these next
two days.
