neurotransmitters.
Postsynaptic Membrane: This is the membrane of the receiving cell, which can be the
dendrite or cell body of another neuron, a muscle cell, or a gland cell. The postsynaptic
membrane contains receptors that bind to the neurotransmitters released by the
presynaptic terminal.
The transmission of information across a synapse occurs through a process involving the
release, diffusion, and binding of neurotransmitters.
3. Define artificial neural network.
An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is a computational model inspired by the structure
and functioning of biological neural networks in the human brain. It is a subfield of
artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that aims to simulate the way
humans learn and make decisions. ANNs are composed of interconnected nodes, also

7. Write briefly about supervised learning.

9. What is meant by multilayer ANN?
A Multilayer Artificial Neural Network (ANN), often referred to as a Multilayer Perceptron

and an output layer. The neurons in each layer are connected to neurons in the adjacent

10. Define the term “back propagation”

Forward Pass: The input data is fed forward through the network, layer by layer,
producing an output.

Backward Pass: The error is propagated backward through the network. The algorithm
