Have you ever thought about the amount of money you can save from drinking a cup of coffee at the Starbuck and
kopitiam? By comparing the prices of coffee at these two places, I’m sure saving this amount of money in the bank can
help us to avoid over-spending. Saving is a good habit and here are four reasons for us to save money.
Firstly, we can get more money when we set aside some pocket money to be saved in the bank. We can open a
saving account in the bank to deposit the money monthly and the bank will give us some interests for the money we
have saved. Just as the proverb goes ‘a penny saved is a penny earned’, so the more money we save, the more money
we earn.
Moreover, learning to save can give us important life skills to financial security. We learn to plan, manage, and
budget our expenses planning. Instead of buying branded and expensive things, we opt for cheaper things so that
we can save up for our future. Understanding the balance of income and expenses help us to pay bills on time and
avoid debts when we become adults later.
Besides, a good saving habit, along with budgeting, allows us to develop discipline, a skill we can apply to other
areas of our life. Having discipline in managing money could make it easier to distinguish between wants and needs.
Our wants often exceed our spending power, so learning to save encourages us to think about things like trade-
offs and opportunity costs, which could then lead to smarter spending choices. We could become better judges of
whether something is a good buy and learn to avoid impulse purchases.
As teenagers, we should better understand the value of money. Learning to save gives us a sense of satisfaction
and achievement. Let’s be smart with our money.

Is it important to know a culture when learning a language?

Since young, we learned words, sentences, and sounds to deliver a message. Other than body language
and facial expressions, another element that plays effective communication is culture.
For instance , the Malaysians are very aware of the language used by the Royal family. The daily words like

I strongly agree that married women should not quit their career in order to raise a family. Here are the reasons and
examples.
First of all, a career and a personal life should not be mixed. Women, who have completed their study at a college
or university will surely have a desire to build and expand their career. This is because, having their own career is a
guarantee in life. They will have their own income and get to buy anything they want. Once they are married, they
could support their husband in raising the family. Furthermore, today’s cost of living is very expensive. Hence, a married
woman with a career will be very helpful for a family.
Next, women with career can develop themselves better. Even though working can be stressful, there will always
be something new that they can learn at the working place. For instance, cooperation skill, communication skill and
leadership skill. Therefore, for me, we shouldn’t ignore the right of married women in pursuing their career as it will be
unfair for them.
To sum up, being married doesn’t put a stop on women’s career. Consequently, quitting a career after getting married
is not a wise decision. Indeed, marriage teaches women to be more skilful in managing their time and responsibilities for

Do you know that using a suitable device for learning is essential for a student? There are many types of devices
we can use and for me, I really like using a personal computer (PC) for my learning.
First and foremost, a personal computer offers larger storage compared to a laptop, tablet or mobile phone. If I

limited space.

I have just read in the local magazine that the illegal street racing has disturbed the residences of Taman Kurnia.
I think this is very disconcerting especially at night when everyone was sleeping.
The majority of these illegal street racers are young and engage in a variety of dangerous stunts without regard for
their own safety or the safety of other road users. Since these illegal street racers view street racing as a sport, the Youth
and Sports Ministry may develop solutions like providing appropriate place for them to ride their motorcycles.
Furthermore, the police should also do routine patrols at the area. On top of that, the government could educate
the parents as well as the teenagers on the dangers of illegal racing. This should be done to raise awareness to both
parties.

COVID-19 pandemic severely. As the cases are increasing
daily, how is it possible to prevent its spread? Let’s practice
3Ws so that we can help to reduce the cases.
3Ws is a safety guideline given by the Ministry of Health
Malaysia which stands for wash, wear and warn. Firstly,
wash your hands frequently. Use soap and water to clean
your hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitisers.
Also, avoid touching your face especially your eyes, nose
and mouth if your hands are not cleaned nor sanitised.
Secondly, wear a face mask especially in public places
or when encountering people who are having fever and
flu. If you really need to go out to buy some groceries,
remember to wear a 3-layer mask. Masks can help prevent
the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask

The third ‘w’ is a warning to maintain social distance

Today, thousands of acres of lush rainforests are
cleared each year. The once beautiful and spectacular
forests are reduced to barren landscapes. Deforestation
refers to the decrease in forest areas that are lost to make
way for development. It has led to problems in the loss of
habitat, natural disasters and climate change.
We know that forests are home to hundreds of species
of flora and fauna. Animals and plants live in the balance of
nature. When human destroy this balance, where do they
go then? The loss of habitat can result in their death as
they have nowhere to go.
Besides, deforestation can cause natural disasters
such as soil erosion and floods. When the trees are felled,
the heavy tropical rains will carry away the rich topsoil that
makes the earth vulnerable to soil erosion. The flowing
water will carry away the topsoil and deposit it in the
rivers. As a result, the rivers will become shallower and
floods will become frequent.
Finally, deforestation has a very strong contribution
to climate change. There will be more carbon dioxide
than oxygen when there’s no tree. The excessive carbon
dioxide will cause a change in the climate and raise the
temperature. This will contribute to the greenhouse effect
and to climate change. When the earth’s temperature rises,
the ice in the polar caps will melt, raising the sea level.
Great floods will hit the lower-lying areas.
Therefore, efforts to stop deforestation and replant
deforested areas should be taken. With the support of
every citizen, we could restore this earth to a beautiful
planet. By preserving our forests, we are preserving
ourselves.

choose to have two to three children. They feel that
having a large family with many children can be chaotic

personally feel that there are some benefits to having a

Firstly, a large family helps the children learn how to

learn how to get along during play, agree or disagree
during argument, and work together for a family project
or activity. These are life skills which will help them to be

Moreover, children from a large family are usually

Firstly, schedule your time. You can plan what to
study and how many to cover by having a timetable. I used
to wake up early at 4 a.m. to study as I feel that nobody
will disturb me during this time. You need to divide your
time wisely so that you have a balance for studies and
recreation. Spend more time for difficult subjects like
Chemistry and Physcis. You should train your mind to
think, analyse and make conclusions. This is necessary for
you to study difficult facts and information that are hard
to digest.

Benefits
There are many benefits of using technology in the
classroom. First of all, they add a fun factor to learning.

In this report, I will describe the visit to the second-hand
shop that was recently organised by The Consumer
Club. The visit aimed to learn about second-hand retail
and items that are sold at a second-hand shop.
Details of the Visit
There were 30 club members, one female teacher and
one male teacher who joined the trip. The second-
hand shop is called ‘For You’. After we arrived, all of us
gathered to listen to a briefing. The owner of the shop
told us about the second-hand shop and the reason
for opening the shop. He told us that he wants to help
people who are unable to buy expensive things.
When we entered the shop the first thing that we
saw was a variety of different types of shirts and pants.
We also saw many types of branded shoes and hats.
There were all kinds of used furniture and phones on
the second floor. They also sell various types of home
decoration such as carpet, frame television and so on.
After looking around the store, we were allowed to buy
anything that we wanted.
Memorable Experience
The most memorable experience on the visit was we
found out that they sell furniture and home decoration
at the shop. We were astonished to find that they all
looked new and in good condition. The things are sold
at cheaper prices too.
Conclusion
Overall, I found the visit to be beneficial as all of us learnt

with scientific-based games there. Apart from that, we
can also ask students to gather any new scientific data
that they have learnt and compile them into a scrapbook
by the end of the visit. This would allow students to
organise what they had learnt throughout the visit.

To conclude, I recommend visiting National Science

author Mat Khair. While Mat Khair’s first book expressed his

The author had been to various parts of Malaysia
and delved into the lives of the locals. There are some
places that many Malaysians might not know before, had
been explored by the author. Readers will be able to gain
insights into the locals’ way of life and connect with them
at a personal level. The book includes enchanting photos
of the people and places that the author had been. Readers
can see the people’s lifestyles and cultures without having
to imagine what they are like.
This book was very well written and easy to read. The
photos allow readers to see what the author was seeing
and experiencing. The author also arranged his journey well
without being complicated and confusing. The language
used to describe the lifestyles and cultures were beautifully
written. It is also informative as the readers can learn and
understand more about other people’s lives and cultures.
All in all, this book is very good and suitable for teens
especially, to learn more about the people of Malaysia and
their cultures. I would recommend this book to all students
at the school as it is a very interesting read.

from his family, Auggie decided to face his fears to start
a new chapter of his life. After some time, Auggie made
a new friend named Jack Will who seemed to not mind
his differences. However, life is not always sunshine and
rainbows. Will Auggie be able to fit in?
‘Wonder’ is as heart-warming as it is memorable. The
film exceeded the expectations of many book fans with
its beautiful screenplay by its talented actors. The film
not only tells a story about Auggie, but it also highlights
the perspectives of the other characters such as Auggie’s
sister, mother, father and friends. This allows viewers to
emphatise with each character and their experiences.
Auggie’s will and determination to live in an unfamiliar
society also moves the heart of many viewers.
All in all, ‘Wonder’ is a masterpiece. If you are looking
for a film that will touch your heart, I would not hesitate to

I think the best shopping place is a supermarket at
my place called Mydin. Mydin is the biggest Halal local
hypermarket in Malaysia. You can also find branches of
Mydin almost everywhere in Malaysia.
This supermarket has many to offer us as a customer. A
wide selection of goods is sold under one roof. It has many
good selections of groceries. Not only groceries but also
clothes, household cleaners, pharmaceutical products,
personal care, stationery, pet supplies and electrical items.
They also sold fresh produce and meat and seafood there.
The whole store arrangement is convenient. The aisles are
wide enough for two shopping trolleys to pass through
without bumping into each other.
The price of the things sold there is very reasonable.
It is good for those who like to buy a dozen items because
all the things are sold at wholesale prices. Mydin provides
many public facilities such as toilets and prayer rooms
which is very convenient for the customers. The Mydin
branch in my area has a food court. There are many food
vendors who sold a wide variety of food. So, people have
a lot of choices on what to eat. Mydin has a huge car park
and many parking spaces. Hence, it allows more customers
to park and shop there.
Overall, I am really satisfied with their good services
at this supermarket. Mydin is the best supermarket that
I would go to every weekend. I would recommend this
supermarket to my friends.

The Al-Haura Arabic Kopitiam is a newly-opened
restaurant located in Sungai Petani, Kedah. It went viral
on social media last year for their exquisite taste of Arabic
food and variety of drinks and desserts. For those who do
not eat Arabic food, they also serve western food there.
As you walk in, the interior design of the restaurant
sets the right tone with its Arabic theme. I was impressed
with the luxurious yet peaceful ambience of the restaurant.
There are no chairs in the restaurant which might surprise
some customers. They provide Japanese tables and a
huge carpet where customers can sit and eat. It creates a
pleasant atmosphere all around.
In addition, they also have excellent service. The staffs
wear a uniform and all of them look neat. They are also
friendly and well-mannered. They serve the customers
with a smile on their faces.
I ordered their most popular Lamb Arab Rice even
though I do not like lamb. However, I was gob-smacked.
The meat was so tender and scrumptious. There was no
weird lamb smell which was surprising. The rice was also
well-cooked and tasty. In the end, I emptied the whole
plate by myself. The restaurant also offers a selection of
appetizers. From traditional Arabic desserts like baklava
and kunafa to western desserts such as banana split and
ice-cream. I ordered a banana split and as expected it
was delectable. Not to mention the price of the foods are
affordable.
Overall, we had a great dining experience at Al-Haura
Arabic Kopitiam and would definitely love to go there
again. I would recommend the restaurant to everyone
who would like to have mouth-watering Arabic food.

Travel locally saves time and money. There are a lot of expenses involved in planning a trip abroad. For examples,

cost which makes you easy to set a budget. Travel locally allows us to support our country economy as well as the local
businesses.
Visiting local places should be encouraged by the government especially the Tourism Ministry. They can organise

A Gotong-royong program was held at Taman Kurnia on the 12th August, Saturday. All the residents joined the
program. We started the program at 8.30 a.m. and ended at 5.00 p.m. The organiser of the program was the Community

The aim of the program was mainly to foster a good relation among the community. Generally, the program was also
held to clean the housing area as well as to develop the value of togetherness among the residents.
Mr Khai has distributed the tasks equally among us. The first activity was cleaning the playground. As the playground
is the main spot for everyone especially children, we had to ensure both its cleanliness and safety. We cleaned the clogged
drain to prevent dengue and the case is rising now. Another activity was planting trees around the area. It was aimed to
make our housing area more beautiful and greener. The teenagers were asked to cut the grass while the adults cleaned the
fishpond.
In the noon, we had our lunch and rested for a while before continuing with picking up all the rubbish on the road. It
was a very tiring day but this annual program was really meaningful for everyone.

I do on Animal Planet. We now know more information about animals, including what they eat, where they live, how they
reproduce, and many other things. We were aware that animals have emotions since they grieved for their families. We
were aware that animals also hunt their prey in packs. We could know how they struggle to protect their family, how they
hunt, and how they work to keep the children alive.
This channel is good for all members in a family to watch as it provides nonstop fun and extensive education. It
doesn’t have any violence or aggressive scenes which might distract the audience. Hence, I would really recommend this
channel to everyone.

70 victims were found injured and 35 people were dead during the earthquake. All the victims were the residents of Hotel
Casa, the hotel which Uncle Ken booked – as he remembered.
Suddenly, Matt thought of calling the hotel. He browsed through the Internet and found the number. He quickly
dialled and after three trials, a lady picked up the call. Matt asked about the situation there. The lady said the condition was
very disastrous. The devastating incident has made people lost their family and properties. When Matt asked about Uncle
Ken, she said there was no resident named Ken registered at the hotel. He then tried calling his uncle’s mobile phone, but
it was to no avail.
That night, all the family members gathered at Matt’s house. They were waiting for the breaking news to know about
Uncle Ken’s condition. Suddenly, Matt’s phone rang. It was an unknown number. He picked up and was shocked to hear
Uncle Ken’s voice. Uncle told Matt that he was stranded at the airport as the flight to San Fransisco was delayed for almost
12 hours. He saw the news and they didn’t believe that! Only God knows how they felt!
