1. Some college students decide to set up a tutoring service for high school students. One
student was charged 100 pesos for 3 hours of tutoring. Another student was charged 350
pesos for 7 hours of tutoring. The relationship between the cost (C) and time (t) is linear and
applicable for minimum of two hours and maximum of 10 hours.

2. In certain parts of the world, the number of deaths 𝑁 per week have been observed to be
linearly related to the average concentration 𝑠 of sulfur dioxide in the air. Suppose there are
97 deaths when 𝑠=100 mg/m3 and 110 deaths when 𝑠=500 mg/m3.
