Project management and monitoring in ERP (enterprise resource planning) is the process of
ensuring that a project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality
standards. The project management team guides the organization, sets the standard for the
project, and addresses and resolves problems as they arise.
Some key parts of project management include:
 Defining goals, objectives, and requirements
 Securing necessary budgets and resources
 Setting a timeline and implementation plan for completion
 Mitigating risk
 Managing execution of the project
 Monitoring progress against the plan
Effective project management requires a comprehensive understanding of the four key elements
of project management: scope, time, cost, and quality.
Monitoring a project means ensuring that the project is going as planned and that tasks within the
project are being completed. There are many metrics that require monitoring, such as the budget,
the time taken to completion, and the standard of quality.
Some forms of monitoring include: Compliance monitoring, Financial monitoring, Process
monitoring, and Beneficiary monitoring.

databases and spreadsheets.
