HISTORY

Narrative written as if you are the historical figure or a person or animal who knows
or just met him/her

Letter or journal writing as the historical figure describing what you’ve seen, done,
felt, and/or thought

Comparison essay of that period of time and present or of two historical figures

Conversation between two historical figures, such as Henry Ford and Thomas Alva
Edison (who were actually friends)

Poetry about a historical figure. Benjamin Franklin was one of my class’ favorites.

Narrative of a worker, farmer, student (“regular person”) affected by a historical


situation (example, working conditions of the Industrial Revolution)

SCIENCES

Interview a component of food (“Poly Saccharide” or her sister “Di”) or a sense


organ. Ask specific questions to share important facts

Letter writing. For example, write home to mom as an unsaturated fat being teased
at camp.

Poetry, such as riddles, limericks or odes to the nose or to protein, etc.

Conversation between two sense organs or two food components, highlighting the
distinguishing characteristics of each

Your own creation myth for how lightning, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. came to be
