HEMOGLOBIN(HB)

Hemoglobin is a red pigment which found in erithrocytes.i.e(RBC in

human blood).the normal concentrate of hemoglobin is 14-16g/dl for men
and13-15g/dl for woman.

Hemoglobin conjugates protein.it contains two parts.

*.protein part is known as globin,and it is a polypeptate chain.

* Non hemoglobin part is known as hemo.it contains pyrophin ring chelated

with centralmetal “Fe” atom.

The main function of the hemoglobin is delivers oxygen for lungs to tissueand
takes out co2 from tissue to carries out to the lungs.

Globin:

Globin consists four polypeptide chain of two primary structure .these 4

polypetide chain have two alpha chains and two beta chains.each alpha chains
have 141 amino acides and each beta chains have 143 amino acides.therefore
hemoglobin consists 574 amino acids residuces.

Porphyrin:

Porphyrin is a square planer molecule of 4pyrrole ring.if a metal atom

enters the ring that is called “Metalloporphyrin” .

Heam:

The heam contains a porphyrin ,that is namely as “protophyrin” is made up of

4 pyrrole ring(A.B,C,D)linked with methine group.it has four methel group,two
propynyl groups, and two vinyl groups are attached.
