Project Title and General Description Proposed Catholic Place of Worship and Fellowship Hall Statement of the Problem: To plan and design a parish/parochial church located in a city seating up to 200 people to house parish activities as well as allowing its premises to be used for non-religious community events. A two- story fellowship hall will also be provided, adjacent the parish church, that will serve as a banquet facility for private functions (200 diners) and six classrooms (20 people/class) for catechism classes and ‘community use. An accessible covered walkway interconnecting the parish church and fellowship hall shall be provided so that after church services congregants can go directly to the fellowship hall without having to be directly exposed to outdoor climate. The character and form of the buildings, spatial ‘organization and the use of building materials should adopt tropical design principles, Filipino architecture, and respect the culture, traditions and the surrounding built environment. Design Considerations: 1 Design standards for Catholic Churches set forth by the Episcopal Commission as implemented by the Office of the Arzobispado de Manila and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. 2. Proper placement of the nave, side altars, sanctuary/altar, perpetual adoration chapel of the sacrament, congregational seating with balcony, baptistery, sacristy, chancel, band/orchestra area (if any), rectory, bell tower , vestibule/lobby, offices, landscaped gardens, courtyard, Support service areas like parking space, rest rooms and other necessary church /fellowship hall amenities, facilities, services and utilities. 3.
