Nurturing the culture of research and innovation is DepEd Region III's response to support the Department's research agenda and policy program development and implementation. Moreover, it recognizes the significance of disseminating and effectively utilizing research findings to enhance learning outcomes, improve the teaching-learning process, and assess their impact at all levels of governance in basic education across the region. 2. Relative to this, DepEd Regional Office Ill through the Policy, Planning, and Research Division will conduct the 2024 Regional Research Conference with a theme "Igniting Innovation and Transformation in Basic Education through Impact, Excellence and Evidence-Based Research" on July 10-12, 2024 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Hacienda Gracia Resort and Hotel, Barangay Remedios, Lubao, Pampanga. The objectives of the activity are as follows: a. Showcase innovative interventions that have the potential to transform and improve education settings. b. Foster a comparative understanding of education research trends, challenges, and solutions. ¢. Provide a platform for BERF grantees to establish meaningful connections and collaborations. d. Recognize the best research outputs and oral presenters in the region. 3. The activity shalll only include approved and completed BERF studies from FY 2021 to FY 2023. All Schools Division Offices (SDOs) shall select one research paper per category for presentation at the conference. A researcher who has been promoted may present a paper he or she conducted in his previous position. All presenters must adhere to the guidelines specified in Annex 1. 5. Research studies that were already presented in the previous Regional Research Conferences are not allowed to be submitted as entries again in this year’s conference. 6. _Allresearch papers will be evaluated by invited research experts from different organizations and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). They will choose three exceptional papers (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) and one best oral paper presenter for each category. All winners will be announced and awarded on the third day of the conference. Research abstracts of the winners will be published on the DepEd R03's official website. Further, SEPS shall serve as moderators for the break-out sessions (See Annex 4). 7. __ Research proponents upon presentation per category will be evaluated using a rubric (See Annex 5). 8. Categories are as follows: ‘Teacher Category - (Elementary, Secondary, and Senior High School) Elementary School Principal Category Secondary and Senior High School Principal Category Supervisors Category — (Chief/EPS/PSDS) Program Coordinators Category - Program Coordinators/Process Owners Non-Teaching and Teaching Related Category (e.g. EPSp Il, SEPS) Popoge 9. Participants in the conference are the Senior Education Program Specialist in Planning and Research and all the select research presenters. All the participants are required to be present for the entire duration of the three-day activity. Further, all participants are required to come in business professional attire. Abstracts must not be more than 250 words in letter-sized papers, Bookman Style Font 11, and single-spaced. The abstract must contain the following: title of the paper, author/s name, Schools Division Office, email address, abstract content, and keywords. 5. In addition, the abstract must contain the purpose of the study, research design or methodology, findings, research limitations, implication of the study, originality or value, and keywords. 6. The PowerPoint presentation must have a maximum of 12 slides. Each presenter's POWERPOINT PRESENTATION (in .ppt or .pptx format) must contain a maximum of 12 slides. It must include the following: a. Introduction (Research Title, Name of the Researcher/s, Rationale, Statement of the Problem) b. Methods (Type of Study /Research Design, sampling and sampling technique, Participants/Respondents, Instrument, and/or statistical tests or data analysis techniques) c. Results and Discussion (in tabular format only) d. Conclusion and Recommendations 2. Each presenter will be given a maximum of 10 minutes to present his/her research paper. Three outstanding papers will be carefully chosen for each theme, while one best oral presenter per theme will also be selected.
