Abstract
Student Management System is software which is helpful for students as well
as the school authorities. In the current system all the activities are done
manually. Its time saving and scalable. Our Student Management System deals
with the various activities related to the student
In the software we can register as a user and user has two types student and
administrator.
Administrator has the power to add new user and can edit the students details
entered. A admin can add students record ,attendance status with department
wise. All students can search his/her basics details and attendance status with
there respective roll numbers.
Introduction
This project “Student Information management system” provides us a simple

interface for maintainance of student information. It can be used by educational

institutes or college to maintain the records of students easily. Achieving this

objective is difficult using a manual system as the information is scattered, can

be redundant and collecting relevant information may be very time consuming.

All these problems are solved using this project. Throughout the project the

focus has been on presenting information in an easy and intelligible manner. The

project is very useful for those who want to know about Student Information

Management Systems and want to develop softwares/websites based on the

same concept. The project provides facilities like online registration and profile

creation of students thus reducing paperwork and automating the record

generation process in an educational institution.


About the Project

 The Student Management System is a simple system develop PHP MySQL


database, Using HTML, CSS.
 This Simple Student Management System will help a certain secondary
school manage the record grades record of their students.

 A Student Management System Project stores the grades per subject and
grade level of each student per periodic grading.

 The student final grade for each subject will be automatically calculated and
labelled the status if either the student passed or failed the subject.

 Moreover, the system was minimally based on the process of storing and
managing the student records in one of the secondary public schools.
Features

Login Page
The page where the system users will submit their system credentials to access the
student grades records. This feature will help to restrict the data of the system.
Home Page
The page where the system users will be redirected by default after logging into the
system.
School Year Page
This page can be navigated under maintenance navigation at the side panel of the
admin user. This page is where the academic school year is listed and managed only
by the system admin users.
Grade List Page
This page can navigate also under maintenance navigation. This is the page where the
list of grade levels are shown and managed.
Student List
The page where all the students of the school are listed and managed. This is under
master list navigation.
Subjects List
The page where all the subjects are listed and managed.
Student List Report
The printable list of promoted or retained students on the selected school year.
Candidates Report
The printable list of students who are promoted on the default school year.
User Page
The page where can system admin user manages the list of the student record system
users.

Disadvantages
I. There aren’t any disadvantage or limitations of a student
management system as such a better word for disadvantage
would br issue faced by schools while using a student
management system.
II. Fortunately there aren’t many. The most common issue
schools/teachers/student/parents face while using a student
management system is a complex user interface, and that’s a
solvable.
III. We’re humans and we need some time to get a hang of things if
the tool you’re using is gimuinely tough to use ,you can go for a
tool that’s simple or get a training.
Module
Admin module:-

This is the first and the base module of the project by this module a

admin is provided to the project to manage the faculty and student


module.

Faculty module :-

This module is for the faculty members of the institute all faculty are
get a unique token no and a pin for registration by the administrator of
the institute by using the registration id and pin the faculty will get
registration page after filling that form the faculty will get registered
in the institute database and they choose a password for login to their
profile.
STUDENT MODULE :-
As like faculty registration same the student will get a roll no and a pin to
registered themselves. After enter the roll no and pin students are redirect to the
registration page after submitting their general details student will get a roll no
and a password to login their profile.

Scope
Without a Student information System, managing and maintaining
the details of the student is a tedious job for any organization.

Student Information system will store all the details of the students
including their background information, educational qualifications,
personal details and all the information related to their resume.

• The Student Information Management System(SIMS) can be


enhanced to include some other functionality like marks,attendance
management.4

• Talent management of students based on their performance


evaluation can be added.
• Social networking can also be added wherein students can interact
with each other

• Can evolve as an online institution.

Risk management

Every project has uncertainties and they may affect the project success.

These uncertainties are known as risk. There is a need to determine the

risks involved in the project to reduce the chance of its occurrence as

well as develop a plan to either mitigate or avoid the risks that have been

identified.

Student Management System can be used by educational institutions to

This system helps in maintaining the information of pupils of the

organization. It can be easily accessed by the manager and kept safe for

a long period of time without any changes.
