Do not engage the lock while one of the wheels is actually slip- ping. Always depress the clutch pedal before locking the differential. ‘The differential must remain locked as long as the drive wheels regain a uniform grip. You need only remove your foot from the pedal (1) to release the lock. IMPORTANT: The PTO mode selector lever, independent or synchronised (optional), contrals a mechanical coupler that ensures the maximum safety in both operation modes. The passage from a mode to another, however, is only possible when the teeth are aligned. The procedure is described under the headings ‘Direct power take-off and *Synchronised power take-off hereunder. Independent PTO engagement Itis driven directly by the engine, and its operation is fully independent of the tractor's ground speed. Use of the rear PTO synchronised with the gearbox, merely serves to operate self-propelled trailers and, more generally, all farm implements that need to be synchro- niised with the tractors ground speed and whose power input must not exceed 40-45% of the engine's maximum power. Engage the synchronised PTO with the machine at a standstill: disengage the main clutch by depressing the disengaging pedal and engage the lever (1) in the position 'D", Synchronised PTO engagement The synchronised PTO must be engaged with the engine at low idle, without forcing and with the tractor at stand- still: rive the tractor alittle forward for an easier engage- ‘ment. In some cases it may be required to engage the PTO clutch for a few seconds to allow for teeth aligning and make engagement easier. In this case, proceed for the engagement as for the in- dependent PTO. ‘Synchronised PTO rpm IMPORTANT: If you are forced to reverse when using the synchronised PTO, remember that the driveline will be spinning in the opposite direction. Thus, with certain implements, it is advisable to disengage the PTO when reversing in order to avoid serious damage (lever 5, position N). DANGER: Before driving an implement through the PTO, ALWAYS make sure that all bystanders are well away from the tractor. ‘WARNING: Fix the drawbar in the central Position when using implements that are driven by the PTO of the tractor. ‘WARNING: When using the PTO drive with a stationary tractor, ALWAYS make sure that the gears are in neutral and that the parking brake is applied. rer Operation WARNING: Before starting up any PTO-driven implement hitched to the three-point linkage, lift the implement to its full height using posi- tion control and check that at least 1/4th of the total length of the telescopic section of the drive shaft is engaged. Note to the use in paddy fields Use in paddy fields: When using the tractorin waterlogged soil or in paddy fields where the water level could rise above the height of the PTO shaft, ask you Argo Tractors, Dealer for instructions on allnecessary waterproofing and sealing measures. If such measures are not taken, the guarantee could be rendered invalid. at 1377 RPM. Never exceed a 1890 RPM engine rated speed (corresponding to 630 RPM of the PTO shaft) or the PTO shaft and the connected implement could be seriously damaged. ( WARNING: 540 ECO power take-offis obtained WARNING: Attach the implement to the drawbar of the tractor before connecting the implement trans- to the power take-off. When connecting tht iplement driveline to the tractor, check the driveline for correct, length, allowed slant and free telescopic movement. ‘The correct length is important to prevent the drive- line from hitting bottom or from separating in any fs tractor or implement operating position, An excessive slant could damage also the power take-off guards. pina dengan Canscannee Operation The main brakes are operated by means of two pedals (2) one for each rear wheel. Braking with only one pedal assists steering in tight manoeuvres. By locking the rear wheel on the inside of a curve, you can virally turn the {actor around on its own axis. For simultaneous braking during normal use and for on-road use, simply lock the two pedals together with the special brake coupling (1). WARNING: always keep the brake pedals A Coupled for on-road driving to ensure simul- tanous braking on all four wheels. NEVER ‘ate brakes fadependendy when diving ton public roads becoming less effective, identify the cause immediately and repair. When working on slopes, avoid using the brakes as much as possible and select a lower gear in order to use engine braking. Draft control lever 1) Move the position control lever (2) against the lower stop, dig the implement down to the required depth in the soil by gradually moving the lever (1) towards the lower stop. ‘The depth reached by the implement is proportional to the traction required by the consistency of the soil. The tractive force required from the tractor is automatically kept constant in these conditions by the hitch. Lock the lower stop in front of the lever (1) to bring it to the same position each time round. Raise the implement at the end of each furrow by using the position control lever (2) only. At the end of the stroke of the draft control lever (1), float mode 'is engaged and the hitch no longer controls the traction force. Position control (lever 2) Bring the draft control lever (1) against the lower stop. Set, the position of the implement, either in or out of the soil, by moving the position control lever (2) up to raise it or down to lower it. The degree to which the implement is ‘moved is proportional to the degree to which the position control lever (2)is shifted Mixed position and draft control mode When draft control is used in varied soil conditions in which the implement may be buried too deep into the soil, use of combined position and draft control is rec- ‘ommended. Set the implement into the soil and find the correct work depth as indicated in the section on draft control. When the required depth has been reached, gradually move the control lever (2) towards the upper retainer until the links of the hitch begin to rise slightly. The hitch operates in the draft control mode but meanwhile prevents the implement from digging excessively into softer soil and producing an uneven job. To raise and dig the implement at the end and at the beginning of each furrow, use only the position control lever (2) Floating position rest on the ground) (used with implements that Bring the position control lever (2) against the lower stop. Hitching implements dimensions @ = Horizontal distance between lower link pins of the three-point linkage and the implements centre of gravity. As small as possible (the greater is the weight of the implement, the smaller itis). Third point backing: mm 0-80; Hitch triangle height mm 460; Drawbar length: mm 825%1,5. NOTE: the plough in the figure is purely an example, as the dimensions are valid for every implement type, Implement attachments For a correct operation ofthe hitch, check carefully the dimensions of the implements that are to be coupled to the tractor. These couplings must have the same standardisation of the tractor’ three-point hitch to avoid that while working, the unit is submitted to iegular stresses due to incom patible dimensions, Weight of the implement In order not to affect the regular operation of the hitch ‘system, implements should have a lower weight than the maximum lifting capacity of the hitch. This value (men- tioned in the technical specification) is but amere indica- tion, asa great influences also due to the distance ofthe implement centre of gravity from the three-point hitch, In fact, if an implement, though it weighs less than ing. cated, is too far from the tractor, it will weigh down on tho three-point hitch with a much greater force than the implements own weight. Shift the control lever (4) fully forward to the Position in which it remains locked at end of travel Control valve with automatic release (optional on some models) convertible single/double acting. The control lever remains locked in the lifting and lowering position. ‘Once the ram has reached end of stroke, the lever is automatically released by the pressure and returns to the neutral position, It is always possible to manually bring the lever back to the neutral position before the cylinder reaches the end of travel. Control-valve operation The contro! lever (), if released, goes automatically back to the rest position, thus locking the implement, in the position ithas reached. The lever can be locked in the neutral position by setting the knob on the (2) Position, All control valves can be adjusted to control single or double acting cylinders. For double acting auxiliary Control valves, the kriob must be set on (1), for single ‘acting on position (3) Each control valve is equipped with one or two quick- hitch female half-couplings of the ‘Push-Pull type, that can be joined to male half-couplings of any make, as long as the dimensions are the same. Hitching and un- hitching of the half-couplings are very simple: only push to connect and pul to detach, NOTE: Oil level in the transmission should be checked frequently for a regular operation of the hydraulic system. Ifthe external circuits draw much oil, ts level should be increased as described in the Maintenance chapter “Check oil level in the transmission’. WARNING: The hydraulic rams of the implements be- ing hitched to the tractor contain the same oil used in the transmission of the tractor. This excludes any oil contamination that could cause malfunction. WARNING: The tractor engine must only be AY scsi te stay cont vate evens In cut postion IMPORTANT: Ask your Argo Tractors Dealer for detailed information about how to use the hydraulic implements correctly and safely since there are aitferent front and rear control valve configurations connected to suit the users specific requirements, = Adjuster knob 1 Free lever, for double-acting aux. control valve. 2 Lever locked in neutral position. 3 Lever for single acting cylinders control ‘Control lever pina dengan Canscannee
