Arise and shine

SA is home of many diverse cultures and groups, but our focus is Christ who loves us all
with our diversity.
We had a wonderful “Sepedi day” with Christ centredness in poems, drama, singing,
choir and eating together in the hall. It was a great success and encourage other cultures
to take part and do the same in the future. Our new culture is a Christian culture, it brings
unity and strength, trust, respect, and love for one another. We are all standing stronger together with Christ as the
foundation, 1 Corinthians 3:11 and “Jesus Christ the name above all names. Psalm 138:2” We as His children are
placed in a position of Victory because we receive the truth that He died for our sins and rose again. Jesus left the Holy
Spirit with us who guides us in truth and in wisdom.”
We at Eagles Nest Christian School have a heart for unity and together we can have a lasting influence on body, soul
and spirit. When we receive Jesus as our saviour and let the Holy Spirit lead us we renew our minds by making
decisions with the spirit leading us.
The local outreaches also bring the love and hope of Jesus to the people, in drop in zones, orphanages etc, Mark 16:15
“Go and tell the good news to everybody everywhere.” The National outreaches are part of Eagles Nest where the Lord
has guided us to take the good news to nations like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi etc by serving, helping children, women
and adults ministering to them. Through physical work and servanthood students get to know themselves. They realise
that our identity is found in Christ. We always want to make room for the poor because we make a loan to Christ.
(Proverbs 19:17). As sons and daughters, we have the victory because we know that all things are possible with Christ.
We are called out of darkness into His marvellous light to make a difference around us and the lives of others. 1 Pet 2:9
Together we are taking hands to help the next generation to be light and to life lives to honour God. We equip our
children to teach their potential and to be the best you with solid fundamental Christian faith convictions of who they are
in Christ. They are equipped as Christian leaders who know Jesus and who make Him known.
Prayer :
Please pray with us daily by using the Prayer in the Nest scriptures daily. It can be a prayer of praise, repentance,
thankfulness or asking God’s help etc. Praise God for His faithfulness. (Hebrews 10:23). It is on our D6 and Eagles Nest
website. (www.encs.co.za)
Real Christian Education is more than just knowledge. It brings Christian biblical teachings, values and principals that
can be implemented in all areas of life.
One of the biggest gifts we as Christian teachers and you as parents can give your children is to teach them the Word
of God, which is alive and give direction in all we do. Ps 119:105 “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my
path.”
Let us remind our students and children that through Christ’s power they are champions. They are Eagles that soar.
Please spend quality time this holiday with your children taking hands to equip them with love for the good work God
has called them for.
Thank you to all our parents for your faithfulness, commitment and support. Stronger together.
In His Service

Dear Eagles Community

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for another tremendous quarter together. I
can’t say enough about how proud I am of the Eagles team and of all accomplishments. I
would like to formally thank our wonderful students for all their hard work and efforts. We
absolutely have the best students. They are committed, purpose driven, happy, hard-working,
energetic, focussed and motivated young people.

We also know how important it is to build strong parent-teacher relationships as we recognize

what a critical role a teacher plays in a child’s life. As a result, we encourage parents to be
active participants in school life and we welcome you to be part of our many family events and
class activities. Our vision is to equip and enable learners and staff to develop to their full
potential as Christian leaders.

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than
yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 When we talk about leadership we acknowledge people in a
humble and serving way through honoring Christ the King. We are dedicated to developing
leadership which requires the ability to do more than one thing at a time through honesty and
integrity.

Together, we’ve learned much and shared experiences that will remain in our hearts for years
to come. The passion and strength within our community make our school truly a special place
for our children. Once again, please continue to pray and support each other. Let us make sure
that kindness reigns at Eagles Nest Christian School.
Do nothing out
God bless you all. of selfish
Bertie de Lange ambition or vain
conceit. Rather,
in humility value
others above
yourselves.

Foundation Phase Teachers Outreach

Date:09 August 2023

On the 9th August 2023 the teacher’s went to Noah’s Ark

children’s home in Tzaneen for our annually teachers
outreach. Noah’s Ark children’s home provides a home
and shelter to orphaned , abandoned and destitute
children. Noah’s Ark is situated at a beautiful farm.

It was a very beautiful day and we spent the whole day at

Noah’s Ark. It was a beautiful experience because the
children were overjoyed and excited to have visitors.
Teachers were divided into groups and had different
activities to help in the house. We spent the whole day
rotating around the house and it gave us an opportunity to
spend our time with the children ranging from 6 months
to 17 years.

Having to say goodbye was one of the hardest thing to do.

May God continue to bless the teachers for their heart,
they were able to give to those who are in need. Our
prayers continue pouring out to Noah’s Ark for financial
growth, financial stability, strength, good health and
guidance.

Career Day
Foundation Phase Career Day
Eagles Nest Christian School
Date:18 August 2023

On the 18th of August, we had our foundation phase career

day. The learners were very excited to represent their career
choices and dress according their future career. We also had
an emergency drill that morning to train the teachers and
learners for future emergencies that may arise.

Teachers were all wearing our beautiful school uniform.

Learners were dressed according to their career choices and
they shared what they want to become when they grow up and
they had interests in their career choices. Teachers gave
learners an opportunity to explore their personal interest and
They assisted learners by motivating them towards their goals.

In conclusion our career day was a successful day

and we are thankful to the lord and our prayer as a
school is for god to guide our learners in achieving
what they want to become when they grow up.

Grade R’s Farm Excursion
On a warm day, 30 excited Grade R
learners embarked on a journey to visit
Farmer Georg.
He welcomed us with his vehicle and
trailer. We jumped on his trailer, and he
took us on a ride around his farm,
enjoying the beautiful African savannah of
grasslands and acacia trees.

many things about goats and
sheep while we could touch the
animals.

We learned that God

created animals for us to
enjoy and that some
animals are very useful
because they can provide
us with something we may
need. God has given us a
big responsibility to care
for the animals He created!

One of the
Eagle's character
traits is that,
"Eagles love
storms" in this
storms are
symbolic to
challenges or
difficulties. One
common
statement by our
principal Mr Mac
van den berg, is,
"You are an
eagle not a
chicken" This we
say as we
encourage our
learners to face
challenges head
on. We assure
them that victory
is guaranteed
because unlike
others who trust
in horses and
chariots, our trust
is in God. From left to right: Tshilidzi Muvhango, Xhihlenga Nkuzana, Kgothatso Kgatla ,Sir Nkosana

Every year between March and May we participated in two phases of the Horizon Maths Competition.
Round two leads to the awards to the provincial "Top 50" This year 4095 learners entered for the first
round from 18 different schools both public and private. Only deserving candidates proceeded to the
final round which consisted of 4095 learners. From 15 schools.
We are humbled to announce that three of our learners made it to the top 50. There are Kgothatso
Kgatla in position 31 bronze medal and a certificate, Tshilidzi Muvhango at position 16 bronze medal
and a certificate. Xhihlenga Nkuzana position 7 a silver medalist got bicycle and a certificate
The prizes are just a motivion. The ultimate goal is the impact that it has on the learners and the
parents for the effort and the dedication.

Chess
Eagle’s Nest Christian School participated in the inaugural Polokwane Primary School Chess
Cup this term. In the cup competition, the under 11 and under 13 results are combined for a
school team score. We played Northern Academy (won 12½ - 11½), PEMPS (lost 11½ - 12½)
and Flora Park Comprehensive Primary (lost 10 - 14), and had a forfeiture against PCS. Our
under 11 team did really well by winning twice and drawing their other match.
We also had learners compete in the Capricorn Qualifying Tournament hosted at PHS on
Saturday, 19 August. Special mention to Omphile Mathete for achieving an overall 5th place in
the under 10 category and for Tumelo Maunatlala, 7th overall, and Letlolo Selepe, 12th overall,
for the under 12 category.
