FID 131: Continental GPEC2A 2018+ MPC5674 4MB CAN Overview Family for reading and writing through the diagnostic connector. Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat petrol vehicles with Continental GPEC2A ECUs. Module: FCA Petro! Gen2 CAN MCU: Nexus MPC5674 Memory: Flash 4MB + 4KB External EEPROM Family performing reading full flash and EEPROM data by OBD. Family performing writing maps area (0x380000-0x400000) For writing Removing protection is required! Supporting features Family supports: + Identification with protection status detection ‘+ Reading full flash and EEPROM ‘+ Writing maps area* ‘+ Reading EEPROM / Writing EEPROM* + Removing protection + Read/Clear DTC functions *Protection removal required before working! Identification and protection During identification you will get following info: software number, hardware number, supplier software, VIN and protection status. If software number is known and our database has record about it you will got blue message with vehicle info and detected family. This feature helps you to select valid family while working with FCA Petrol Gen2 module. Otherwise, you will get message “Unrecognized software detected..." This message means that we don’t have record about this software number. Send us info about vehicle with model year, engine, model and brand and we will add it. High speed fail usually mean CAN-bus problems, so it is recommended to use low speed then or using bench connection After reading you will automatically get full readout with 3 files saved + Flash, where maps are located. It has name which you specified during saving + EEPROM data, which has _EEProm ending and has 4KB size + Backup file for recovery mode. It has 4100 KB size and has .dat extension! For editing and writing use Flash file, EEPROM file are required for writing EEPROM data, if you have problems during first write. Always store original EEPROM before If you have fail during writing process, just try again, After failed writing you al with Recovery option. Make sure you have removed protection before! Recovery Recovery must be used when you have problems during writing and during writing protection status cannot be detected. During recovery you must already have REMOVED PROTECTION, because recovery option doesn’t perform detection of protection status! Always select original backup file during recovery, checksum calculation is disabled during in recovery mode! Removing protection Removing protection is required to start writing ECU. To understand do you need protection removal, do identification and check protection status. Please read Identification and protection part of this manual for more information! Warning! For removing protection you must use one of supported J2534 devices. OpenPort 2.0 doesn’t support required features to do protection removal. Main supported devices are + DrewTech CarDAQ, CarDAQ+, CarDAQ2, etc. + DrewTech Magnoose JLR,Chrysler (IS02/CAN not supports this speed!) + Bosch VCM-II original + Scanmatik SM2 + Scanmatik SM2-PRO Bitbox.ru | BitEdit.ru All support questions: support@bitbox.ru o Attention!
