About the Position: This position is located in Vicenza, Italy. The Vicenza Area is
the home of the modularized and expanded 173d Airborne Brigade Combat Team and
a deployable command post of Task Force 5. It is the ideal geographic location.
Vicenza is situated midway between Venice and Verona, 45 minutes driving in either
direction. It is less than 3 hrs drive from Florence, Milan, and the borders with
Austria and Germany. Vicenza is a medium sized community with excellent
infrastructure support, (DoDDS, Housing, Medical,etc). The climate is temperate with
availability of a wide variety of outdoor activities in the nearby mountains
(Dolomites) and beaches (Adriatic Sea).

NSPS Position: This position is covered by the National Security Personnel System. For more

Duties: You will manage, coordinate and direct the installation Family Advocacy Program (FAP)
independently. Develop installation procedures that outline responsibilities for the execution of
the FAP. Receive guidance and direction from regulations, local SOPs, commander, and higher
headquarters staff. The program provides a full range of prevention, community education, direct
services, and liaison with other installation, military services, and state and local services. Serve
as unit service coordinator providing services to designated military unit. Provide direct
supervision and program guidance to the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, the FAP
Specialist/Emergency Placement Care Coordinator, Victim Advocate and Program Support
Assistant. Assign and review for accuracy the work of all volunteers and personal service
contractors working in the FAP. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of
assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

About the Position: This postion is located in Heidelberg, Germany, home of the US Garrison
Baden Wuerttemberg and Heidelberg and the HQ, US Army Europe. Heidelberg is a city very rich
in culture and international in its tastes, due to the famed Heidelberg University with a large
number of foreign students, and its status as a favored international tourist destination. The ruins
of Heidelbergs castle rise majestically high above the narrow langes and picturesque maze of
roofs in the Old Town. Heidelberg is centrally located in Germany, with the cities such as
Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Nuernberg, and Munich only a few hours away by train. It is also a short trip

NSPS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Basic Requirement:
Degree: Social Work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in
a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Aditionally: To receive consideration for this position, applicants must possess 1 year of
specialized experience at the next lower pay band or equivalent under the General Schedule (GS)
or other pay systems. The quality of this experience must clearly demonstrate the possession of
the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary to successfully perform the duties of
this position. This includes, but is not limited to: Knowledge in managing, directing, and
coordinating an installation-wide Family Advocacy Program; Ability to develop installation-wide
policies and procedures that outline responsibilities for the installation-wide Family Advocacy
Program; Knowledge of an installation-wide prevention and education programs about child and
spouse maltreatment; Knowledge on all matters pertaining to family abuse and domestic violence;
Skill in planning and coordinating a broad community education and awareness program, primary
and secondary prevention programs to reduce family violence; or other work that is in or related
to the position being filled.
