On the day of the debate, the organizing committee will allocate one motion and its corresponding sides (proposition or opposition) to each team. Speaking Time: Prime Minister-4 minutes Leader of Opposition-4 minutes Deputy Prime Minister-4 minutes Deputy Leader of Opposition-4 minutes Constructive speeches by speakers from both sides will be followed by question answer Round. Question Answer Round Each speaker may only be asked one question; cross-questioning is not permitted. Speakers will be granted one-minute preparation period for the Q&A round and an additional one minutes to respond to the question. cs ~ fae fom) Marking Criteria The judgment rendered by the judges is conclusive and obligatory. Evaluation will be conducted based on both the speech and the question-answer rounds. There will be no feedback session during the league round. SEMI FINALS 4 teams with highest speaker scores in league match will qualify for semifinals from both Hindi and English. In semifinals, two motions will be presented. A toss will determine the winning team, granting them the choice to either select their stance or veto a motion of their preference. Each speaker will be allotted a speaking time of 5 minutes, and both sides will deliver reply speech of 1 minute each FINALS The finals will revolve around a single motion, with stances decided through a toss. Each speaker will have a speaking time of 7 minutes. Following the speeches, both sides will deliver a reply speech of 1 minute each. MARKING CRITERIA Teams will be evaluated based on speaker scores out of 40, which will reflect the quality of their speeches and responses to questions. The semi-finals will be a knockout round, wherein the two teams with the highest speaker scores will advance to the final round. All rules applicable to league matches and semi- finals will also apply to the final round, with the exception that the speaking duration for each speaker from both teams will be 7 minutes in the sare An institution whose both Hindi and English teams secure the highest speaker scores will be awarded the prestigious Jaswant Kaur Memorial National Rolling Trophy. The team with the highest speaker scores in the finals will be declared the winner in their respective language. eae GENERAL RULES 1) The judgment of the judges shall be conclusive and binding. 2) Any form of misconduct towards the Organizing Committee(OC) or fellow participants will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification. 3) Making any racist, sexist, or prejudicial remarks during the debate will result in disqualification. Participation is allowed in team of two, one participant will speak for the motion while another will speak against the motion . 2. Both UG AND PG students can participate . 3. Cross College teams are not allowed . 4. Participants can present their debate either in Hindi, English, Urdu or Sanskrit. 5.Same language should be maintained throughout the debate , bilingualism or multilingualism in speeches is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification. 6. Participants will get 4+1 minutes for presenting their speech and answering the interjection respectively. 7. Only one interjection can be asked from a speaker . No Cross questioning is allowed . 8 Decisions of judges will be final and binding. a) JANAK KAPOOR MEMORIA NATIONAL DEBATE ELIGIBILITY: UNDERGRADUATES AND POST GRADUATES REGISTRATION FEE - 200 PER TEAM. Ba VAKTAVYAM THE NATIONAL TURNCOAT DEBATE Rules: 1) Only undergraduate students are allowed to participate. 2) Slot allocation will be done on first come first serve basis due to limited availability of slots. 3) Slot confirmation will be given by call only after payment is done which is non refundable. 4) Registration fee %150. 5) Motions will be released 24 hour prior to the event. 6) Each speaker will get 2 minutes to speak for the motion, 2 minutes to speak against the| motion, and 1 minute to conclude. 7) The participant can either speak in English or Hindi. Switching the medium of language while speaking is strictly prohibited. 8) The decision of judges will be final and binding to all participants. 9) Use of foul language is strictly prohibited.
