NY TRIP REP0RT
WHAT LKED THE BEST?
Definitely the city. London is one of the most amazing places in the
world. t wasn't my first time in the city, but still, loved every minute. The boat
trip we took was very. helpful, because kind of lost track of where was. So,
finally, had the opportunity to find out where every landmark is. London has a
dynamic that draws you in. the pubs at night, the shows in Soho, the parks. n
the future, would love to live there. think may take one study year there.
One of the most beautiful characteristics of the city is her architecture.
The buildings are old-fashion, even old-school. That's what think Lisbon is
lacking these days. Besides, know that it rains 346 days a year, and that will
miss the sun, yet don't care. One day, will live in London; wake up every
morning and a buy a coffee to go on Starbucks or Nero.
WHAT DDN'T LKE SO MUCH?
The National Gallery. absolutely hate this museum. can't stand
watching all those walls covered with famous paintings. n my opinion, art
should have a little more room to breathe. know that this museum houses
many famous works, such as van Eyck's Arnolfini Portrait, Velzquez's Rokeby
Venus, Turner's Fighting Temeraire and Van Gogh's Sunflowers.
AN UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT LNKED TO MUSC
For this one, actually have two favorites. The music tour and the
musical.
loved the musical. t was my second
real musical and thought it was great. When
was little use to go see musicals all the time
but not some much lately. So was happy
when i found out that we were going to see
one. Priscilla the queen of the desert is a
very funny musical. The plot is awesome. All
that glitter and pink just blew my mind. had
the chance to sing along some of the most
epic songs of all times.
The music tour around London was
interesting, saying the least. n the first place,
the man who was hosting the tour was a
middle 40's
rish/Scottish/British man. He was very nice and
helpful. He shows us where big music legends studied
or where they started their careers. Artist such as
Elton John, the Rolling Stones, Adam and the Ants,
the Beatles... and so on. We saw where the rolling
stones recorded their first single, the roof where Elton
John wrote his songs, the restaurant where every
single artist eats... t was very insightful because we
had the opportunity to visit Chinatown.

AN ANECDOTE
On the first night, after we ate at the Mexican restaurant, the teachers let
us walk around Convent Garden. After we assisted to a small street concert, we
walk a little more until a guy asks us, girls, to cheer up for the new couple. He
was going to purpose to his girlfriend and wanted us to support him. t was so
cute. He went down on one knee and asked her to marry him and of course,
she said yes. Then, we started applauding and cheering them.

BACKGROUND NFORMATON ABOUT A PECE OF ART
The painting picked is The Sick
Kid by Eduard Munch. t's an after
impressionist painting. The actual painting
is a blur of colors but the joyful tons bring
sense to it. So, in the center, we have a
sick child and who might be her mother.
Her mother is crying, head down. The sick
girl is looking at her, maybe in an attempt
to comfort her brokenhearted mom.
The main colors are green and red
which might represent life and death,
nature and blood.
Munch made this painting several
times in honor of his little dead sister that
died when they were teenagers.
Although this painting is full of life, the painter managed to bring some
sadness to it. At the first look, we immediately get the message behind it.
like the fact that it's the sick one that is comforting the mother, just
because she can't take the pain, it's too much for her heart.

FREE
The three things that 'm very blissful to have found out or to have done:
1- My sushi pull-over from David and Galliath. t's so cute and perfect. n
the front we can see two rice bags and a sushi roll and it says "you dim sum,
you lose sum. t's been a year that 'm looking everywhere for that shop and
finally find it. must admit that it's a very expensive shop but don't care one bit
because was my new pull-over a lot.
2- Terry's orange chocolate. My mother and her best friend are crazy
about this chocolate but it's not very common in Portugal. Therefore, bought
her different s types of Terry's orange chocolate that at the time where having
the special Halloween edition.
3- For the first time in my life ate ndian food. 'm convinced that thing.
'm already not a huge fan of spicy food so... But honesty enjoyed the food
from the ndian restaurant we went to.
