The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral, and independent
organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war
and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavors to prevent suffering by
promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
The ICRC office in Gaza is looking for candidates to fill in the following position:
Main Tasks:
As an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team and within his/her specialty, the Assiatnt Head Nurse
promotes and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care through the local staff under his/her
supervision.
S/he works to build capacity in the specific area of expertise within ICRC-run Rafah Field Hospital
(RFH), often working with limited resources and in a challenging environment.
• Demonstrates and delivers a high standard of evidence-based patient care within his/her
particular specialty.
• Develops and delivers a measurable training/coaching programme within the ward, based on
relevant ICRC guidelines for hospital personnel.
• Has supervisory and clinical management skills of nursing and auxiliary staff under his/her
responsibility.
• Ensures that adherence to infection-control policies underpins all work within the hospital..
• Sets up and/or completes all relevant paperwork and ensures accurate and timely data
collection through the different departmental staff.
• Facilitates an appropriate level of preparedness and timely response to emergencies within
his/her specialty and through the staff supervised.
• Cooperates fully and proactively with internal and external counterparts.
• Ensures that all resources available at RFH are managed and maintained in an appropriate
manner.
