The inquisitiveness and the dream to work in the field of electronics motivated me to do well in Physics during my Higher Secondary School. Working in the industry helped me understand the challenges in developing a system and the importance of Analog Design for its success. A desire that germinated in the school and which took shape as I graduated and spent time in the industry has brought me to today. I wish to pursue my Post Graduate studies, to explore and appreciate the entire gamut of Analog Design techniques.

Aim: A lesson in school on how electrons revolve around the nucleus of an
atom had done enough to create a desire in me to learn more about the subject. In my undergraduate school, courses in my chosen field of electronics and communication engineering fascinated me with its power of applications. Educational Background: The inquisitiveness and the dream to work in the field of electronics motivated me to do well in Physics during my Higher Secondary School. Through the four years of my graduation program, I understood the use of electronics in building complex systems with the exposure to courses like Linear and Digital integrated Circuit Design, Analog and Digital Communication, Digital Signal Processing and Microwave Engineering. The courses like electronic devices and circuit theory strengthened my basic knowledge of the functioning and the applications of analog circuits. A hardware project (successful implementation of a module of a communication system using an optical device as the transceiver) helped me to gain a practical insight of implementing systems. The project in many ways played a pivotal role in shaping my interest and highlighting my strength in the field of Electronics. During the final year of my under- graduation, I was a member of the technical symposium organization committee. This also provided me an opportunity to work in a team.
Employment History: My industry experience was a wonderful learning curve. In 2004 my initial project convinced me that this is where I belong and strengthened my interest in the field of electronics. With the opportunity to design a part of the board for the optical communication interface of a network processor, I started exploring the signal integrity concepts and the impact of the parasitic capacitance elements on high speed designs. A keen interest to comprehend the pivotal role of the clock phase, clock jitter and the constraints due to the increasingly data rate strengthened the likening for Analog Design Techniques. The next big opportunity for understanding the system on the whole was when I worked on a DVB-T demodulator. I had a chance to understand how a system would be developed on a FPGA platform. During this phase, I understood the functionality and the criteria for the selection of an Analog to Digital Convertor in a design, the impact of the RF signal and the overall response of the system based on the input RF signal and the various aspects in developing a system. It also allowed me to understand the applications of digital signal processing in more detail. My next opportunity was to explore a specific internal block of silicon as a part of the functionality validation of the High Definition Multimedia Interface receiver. This project allowed me to understand key concepts like accurate reconstruction of clock and data from a high speed serial link. During these few years of my professional career I began to appreciate the importance of the Analog blocks like Phase-Locked Loops and Phase Picker and understood the overall dependency of the SOC on Analog blocks. y Masters in Electronic Design. As much as the industry helped me develop an insight of a system, I strongly feel my desire to explore the system from the Analog design and implementation perspective would be fulfilled by doing my post graduation. I feel this would give me the best platform to further my quest for knowledge in Analog design. How will te course aid my future growt I have a strong desire to make the best use of Analog design techniques in path-breaking inventions. I would like to see myself as part of many successful endeavors in the future. To realize the above dream, there is a need to enhance my domain expertise in Analog Design. The first step I have taken is by applying for the Master of Science in Elecctronic Design in the prestigious Glasgow university, known for its highly research oriented activities and very knowledgeable teaching faculty. I would like to thank the committee for allowing me to express my thoughts and necessity in pursuing this course.
