Summary of the story:

Once upon a time, there was a Scottish army general named Macbeth. He and his friend Banquo, coming back from the battlefield, meet a group of witches. They told Macbeth that would become king of Scotland. They told Banquo that this sons would become Scottish kings as well. Macbeth invites king Duncan to his castle for dinner. Lady Macbeth is greedy, heartless, evil woman and persuades her husband to kill king Duncan. That night, Macbeth and his wife get king Duncans guards drunk, which allow them to get into the kings room. Macbeths insanity begins to appear and he sees a bloody dagger floating in the air. The next morning the guards wake up and find his king dead. Macbeth says that they are poor guards, and kills them. Macbeth kills Banquo but Banquos son escapes.

Now, Macbeths insanity becomes apparent. That night, while they are having dinner with some nobles, Banquos ghost appears, but only Macbeth can see it. That night, he meets the witches for more prophecy. The witches give him three important informations: -He will never be harmed by any man worn of woman. -He will be safe until Birnham wood come to his castle. -He should fear MacDuff, a nobleman who is not happy because Macbeth is king. Although the first two tips from the witches appear to mean that Macbeth is, invincible, paranoia still eats at him. He is consumed with fear that MacDuff will become a problem. So, Macbeth sends his men to raid MacDuffs castle and kill his wife and children. Macbeth is furious with Macbeth for murdering his family. MacDuff joins forces with Dunans sons, and their armies advance upon Macbeths castle. Unable to take the guilt any longer. Lady Macbeth commits suicide And here my friends, is where the witches prophecies play out in such an ironic and clever way: 1. MacDuffs army is holding tree branches as they advance. This is their attmpt to camouflage themselves on a more humorous note, it makes it appear as if the forest is moving. Birnham Wood is coming. 2. As MacDuff meets sword-to-sword with Macbeth, we find out that MacDuff was untimely ripped from his mothers womb (delivered via cesarean). He is not of woman born. The story ends with MacDuff holding Macbeths servered head in his hand, declaring victory, inviting everyone to see him crowned King of Scotland.
