LESSON PLAN FOR FLIPPED CLASSROOM

Teacher:
Unit 7: Jobs
Lesson 1 – Task 1,2,3
Duration (period): 40 minutes

I. Class review
+ In my class, there are 25 students; 15 of students are male, and the left are girls.
+ The collaboration in teamwork is quite effective in each speaking activity when they
are asked to do tasks and peer-check. They all studied design PowerPoint in ICT from
grade 3.
+ Learning styles: There are different learning styles or preferences for processing
information and engaging with learning activities. For Visual Learners, about 30% of
students, mainly female, often benefit from seeing information presented in a visual
format and may have strong spatial reasoning skills. For Auditory Learners: Auditory
learners learn best through listening and verbal instruction. About 20% of students in my
class love discussions
II. OBJECTIVES:
Given the topic, guidelines, and assessment rubric, 25 students in the fifth-grade
will be able to verbally present all about their future career with confidence and
be active in communicating with friends and the teacher.
III. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS:
- For teacher: Padlet, projector and slides Powerpoint
- For students: Ipad, A4 paper, markers

Activity 1: Warm up (5 minutes)
a.Aims: warm-up activity to introduce lesson and review the previous lesson
b. Procedure:
- Greet the students - Greet the teacher
- Divide class into 4 teams - Choose the team name
- Play the video: Jobs song - Look, listen, sing and

Lead in: Photo time!
- Show the photo on page 76. Tell students to look at the
photo on the screen and ask them what they can see. Elicit -Look and listen
ideas from the class and write them on the board.
- Ask students to read the words on page 76 and tick them
if they are in the photo. -Tick
- Check answers as a class.

- Write on the board “Jobs” and introduce the lesson.

Activity 2: Station Rotation (5 minutes)


a. Aims: Present new vocabulary: bubble tea, soft drink, lemonade, nuts, yoghurt
- Ss spend 5 minutes in each station
Station 1: Vocabulary Review (pair work)
- Students use the tablet on the desk to scan a QR code and
complete Blooket game to review vocabulary.
- Fast finishers: Do the crossword puzzle -Repeat after the teacher.
Station 2: Task Menu (individual)
- Draw a word cloud using words to describe your job.
- Make 2 sentences to describe your job

-Tick and write the words

Station 3: Listening – peer check


- Play track 7.2 twice using tablet to listen and tick.
- Play the audio again and ask students to do cross-check
Activity 3: Production (5 minutes)
a. Aims: Controlled-practice to practice listening skill and practice the vocabulary using:
He/She is.....
Play game: Treasure hunt (using ipad)
-Listen and read.

-Listen
How to play: There are 5 questions and a lucky treasure.
Students choose a number and answer the question. -Read
Students get treasure with each correct answer. Students
do not have to answer questions if they find lucky -Listen and tick
treasures. -Check
- Introduce and set game rules
- Do a demo -Check with the whole class
- Play several rounds.
-Act out the dialogue in
pairs
-Practice the dialogue in
front of the class

-Tell students to look at the picture for question 1 and ask


who is in the picture. Elicit “a photographer”. Read out the
example and ask students to repeat.
-Explain the rest of the task to students. Allow them
time to practise, saying the correct sentences
individually and in pairs. Go around the class helping
students when necessary. -Join to the game
- Ask volunteers to read out their answers. Correct
Mistakes if possible.

Activity 5: Assessment (3 minutes)


a. Aims: Do a quick exercise to consolidate the content of the lesson
b. Procedure:
