Satyanand - Hello Sir, 'm Satyanand preparing for SNAP test.

Can you give any advice about

how to prepare?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - Dear Satyanand in such a short time the following should be the
strategy for preparation:
for LR practice topics like set theory, Data Arrangement. For GK the study of Fiscal Analysis of
Current Year, Major Current Affairs, Merger and Acquisitions, Companies listed in Fortune 500
list, Businessman of the year and other awards by various newspapers and magazines, BBC
women of millennium. The questions may also be about ndia's rank in human development
index, CRR ratio, ndian social statistics (like number of illiterates in ndia, number of child
laborers in ndia, number of uneducated persons in ndia etc.), GDP growth rate etc. as they have
been a part of the GK Section of SNAP Test regularly. For QA revise/study the topics like
Number Systems, HCF and LCM, Time Speed and Distance, Boats and Streams, Escalator
related, Linear and Quadratic Equations, Mensuration 2D, Mensuration 3D, Work and Time,
Pipes and Cisterns, Partnership, Probability, Plane Geometry, Permutation and Combination, Set
Theory, Percentages and Averages, Ratio and Proportion, S and C, Profit and Loss and
Discounts.

Chandrani - Sir, please do tell me about the format of SNAP & where to find SNAP
sample/previous papers? Also Sir, 'm very weak in GK, so please do help me. f buy the book of
Competition Success Review will it be helpful for GK?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - You can find out about the format also from our site in the below
mentioned linked under the SNAP Analysis and Strategies heading. You can find the solved
paper at the link http://www.minglebox.. on our site. Yes, Competition Success Review will be
helpful for GK and also read through the past 3-4 months newspaper s and magazines. You
cannot get all these facts in a one single book, but you can refer current affairs magazines of the
last few months like PT education's PrepTalk etc. You can also read "Concise GK manual 2009"
and Penguin year book 2009 (Rs. 150). You all can Download the daily GK capsules name
Drishti from the pteducation.com for more GK knowledge. These will be more than sufficient.

Mansi - Sir, i would like to know how we can prepare for GK questions to attempt SNAP, XAT &
NMAT.

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - You can prepare for SNAP GK - Remember NMAT does not have
GK - by going through the past 5-6 months of newspapers and magazines - or a comprehensive
current affairs journal like the ones have already mentioned in the last question.

Pramod - Hello.Where should take admission after cracking SNAP, as have done BTech(CS)
with 4 year exp. in Networking and T nfrastructure.

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - deally, STM or SCT would seem a good fit but you might find
some overlap in content between your BTech and MBA courses. But if you are interested in
Finance or Marketing or HR then try for the 2 best colleges in SNAP - SBM and SCMHRD. Or
you can get admission into SBM Pune, SCSR Pune, SB Pune, SCMHRD Pune. STM is again
a niche place and currently the telecom sector does look rosy. You can get the admission based
on you interested MBA course.

Akshay - How many questions to attempt in SNAP exam for a good enough score?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - Try and attempt at least 105+ questions with a reasonably good
accuracy (85-90%) to get admission into top institutes like SBM, SCMHRD etc. Accuracy matters
because it is a game of speed and if you want to get a call from SBM then you need at leat a
score of 90. n this scenario, attempting 100 with a high accuracy is a must. ts not only for SNAP
entrance test, all exams that have negative marking, high accuracy should be maintained.

Vineeta - Hi Sir, can u please tell me how to prepare for GK? What are the colleges that accept
SNAP ?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - Newspapers and current affairs magazines of the past few months
are the best. Please do look at my previous answer for general GK topics. There are many GK
compendiums available that will provide a summary of the past 5-6 months. SNAP is an exam for
admission into colleges under the purview of Symbiosis University. The prominent Symbiosis
colleges are SBM, SCMHRD, STM, SCT, SMC, SMS among others. There are total 12
colleges: SBM Pune and Bangalore, SCSR, SMC, SB, SCMHRD, STM, SCT SG SOM,
SHS SMS - all Pune. Do browse through www.minglebox.com/mba for more.

Kumar - Sir,my name is Kumar and i have appeared for CAT 08 but didn't do well in that please
tell me how should i prepare for SNAP?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - Most importantly, put CAT 2008 exam behind you and focus on
SNAP 2008. . For SNAP, focus on basics: speed of calculation, accuracy in your answers.
Remember this paper is much easier. Language would be Vocabulary based, so you can score
quickly. GK can help you score marks in short time. Focus on GK, Vocabulary and Logical
Reasoning as three quick scoring areas. t has been seen that the SNAP test (2-5) contains some
of the questions from the previous year's CAT papers so solve them apart from this the regular
practice of Logical Reasoning and D questions is necessary.

Pooja - Sir, you said attending 100-105 questions would be good with 90% accuracy but
attending such a high number of questions are difficult? wrote few mocks and am able to
answer between 80-90 questions? Can you guide me how to reach beyond this as we have time
of only 30 to 40 min per sections? Selections of questions will be time consuming and besides
can you tell me what kind of shortcuts would be useful for exam?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - That was mentioned for SBM and SCMHRD. Your attempts would
be good enough for STM, SCT, SMC etc. To increase your number of question attempts, focus
on GK and Vocabulary or alternately, go for max LR questions as they carry 2 marks. Selection of
question is important; select such questions which you are sure of answering correctly. Apart
from this, more practice of shortcut techniques in Data nterpretation and Quantitative Analysis
will help in save the time. Revise short cuts like approximation techniques, conversion between
fractions and percentages etc.

Soumya - What should be the appropriate time distribution among the sections? and are there
any sectional cut-offs? How do u rate SBM, Bangalore, compared to SBM, Pune?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - Last year expected cut-offs were SM-92 to 98 marks, SCMHRD 80-
87 marks, SB - 72 to 80 marks, STM - 68-72 marks, SCT 65+ marks, SOM 68-75 marks,
SMS 55+ marks, SMC 50 + marks.

Atish - Sir, in the prospectus i found two columns in the fee-structure; one was meritorious and
the other was sponsored...category. What these two are?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - The fees for meritorious students are the students which get the
admission by merit list and the sponsored candidates get admission in the colleges with low
marks also usually Symbiosis institute has 15% reservation for sponsored candidates.

Barsha - What are the areas in Maths which are emphasized more in SNAP and what's the
weightage of Data nterpretation? Whats the average pay package?

Mr. Pankaj Burhanpurkar - Generally D contains 10-15% questions of the paper. Average
salary package of siib is 7.6 lacks pa. That's all we have time for today. Prepare and revise well,
your exam will be a cakewalk.
Good luck everyone!
