The Event was inaugurated with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony Iollowed by Saraswati Vandana.
Dr. S.C. Kapoor, Prof, 1IMS with his inaugural speech brieIed the delegates about the Event
Schedule. The welcome speech was delivered by (Hon.) Dr. J. K. Goyal, Director, JIMS and the
vote oI thanks were given by Ms. Mansi Arora, Faculty.
The H R Summit 2011 was designed to make HR ProIessionals learn to anticipate changesand
understand what is necessary to implement. They must understand business decisions by
balancing a range oIIactors that oIten conIlict with one another.It requires the Iocus on ISSUE
and not the PERSONALITIES. The HR proIessionals
have to have a global mindset with competence oI understanding business imperatives necessary
Ior organizational strategies with sensitivity.. The HR Summit received an overwhelming
response and saw participation not only Irom HR Iield but proIessionals in cross- Iunctional
departments like sales, marketing, supply chain, operations and academics.

The HR Summit 2011 had 3 Technical Sessions. First session was on Changing Dynamics of
HR - Strategic and Nurturing Roles, Second session was on Learning and Development of
the most precious resources of an organization- Human Resources and the third session was
dedicated to Iind out the answer oI the question- will IR re-emerge as the strongest challenge
in manufacturing industries in 2020?

Managing Executive OIIicer - Admin (HR, IT, Finance & COSL), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.; Mr.

Mr. Deepak Behl, Director - HR, Double Tree By Hilton Hotel; Mr. Shekhar Ghosh, Former
Director (HR), Indian Airlines; Mr. O.P. Tyagi Management Consultant (I R); Mr. Chiranjiv
Singh, General Manager (HR), Awantha Holdings Ltd. (Thapar Group); Mr. V. K. Verma,
General Manager (HR), Tata Consultancy Services; Mr. Rakesh Sethi, Sen. Vice President

The H R Summit 2011 received an overwhelming response Irom the Iaculty & Students oI JIMS.
The event concluded with the Valedictory Session with the presentation oI mementos &

certiIicates to the delegates. The Valedictory Speech & the vote oI thanks was given by Dr.
S.C. Kapoor, Prof, 1IMS.
Overall the event was a great learning experience Ior all the delegates, Iaculties and the students.
