Q.Nos 1(a) (b) 2(a) (b) (c) Define and explain the term heat in detail. Also describe the modes of transfer of heat energy from one place to another support your answer with examples. Define and explain thermometry and types of thermometer along with their respective sketches. Describe liner thermal expansion of solid substances with examples. Discuss briefly specific heat capacity of substance. List out specific heat capacity of some common substances. Eighty gram of dry iron shot is placed in a cup and heated to a temperature of 90oC . The mass of the inner aluminum cup and of the aluminum stirrer is 60g. The calorimeter is partially filled with 150 g of water at 18 oC . The hot shot is quickly poured in to the cup, and the calorimeter is sealed. After the system has reached thermal equilibrium, the final temperature is 20 oC compute the specific heat of iron. Illuminate the term wave motion distinguish clearly between transverse and longitudinal wave motion theoretically and diagrammatically. Define and explain acoustics. Describe the conditions for good acoustics. Discuss the following theoretically and diagrammatically: a) DC Motors b) Compound optical systems c) Electromagnetic oscillations Describe the nature of light. What do you mean by reflection of light and refraction of light. Support your answer with respective sketches. Explain simple harmonic motion with example of sim0le pendulum. What are the lenses? With illustrations describe the different types of lenses and also explain their classifications. Define focal length and magnification of a lens. The distance between an object and screen is 62.25 c.m . A convex lens is placed between the object and screen so as to get an image on the screen magnified 8 items. Calculate the focal length of lens. If the distance of image from lens is 15 c.m. What are the application of atomic nuclear physics in various fields. What is the difference between diode and triode? Enlist their applications. Define and explain radioactivity. Explain and discuss the nature of radioactive particles along with with their properties. What is meant by a magnetic field? Explain magnetism and describe the various theories of magnetism The End
