Grade 8 Math Projects
Subject: Project-Based Assessment
Dear Students (Parents),
We are excited to announce the implementation of Project-Based Learning in coming week on
(Monday-Wednesday) during lesson time. This is an educational approach where students
engage in hands-on projects that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-
solving skills. This method is designed to make learning more engaging and meaningful for
students, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the subjects and related topics they
study. This is the part of our curriculum and these projects will be assessed and marked with
rubrics. Make sure your child should not be absent from school.
The project detail is given below;
Project Title: Exploring Types of Angles with an Angle Clock Model
Watch the video: https://youtu.be/I02V73Z72jQ?si=CD6OIGSFNQiETga9
Materials:
1. Clock Face Materials:
o Cardboard or foam board (for the clock face)
o Protractor (for accurate angle measurement)
o Ruler and compass (for drawing circles and straight lines)
2. Clock Hands:
o Cardboard or plastic sheets (for making clock hands)
o Fasteners (such as brass fasteners or split pins) to attach the hands to the clock face
3. Markers and Labels:
o Markers or pens (for labeling angles and marking degrees)
o Adhesive labels or stickers (for marking degrees on the clock face)
4. Decoration Materials:
o Colored paper, stickers, or paints (for decorating the clock)
5. Presentation Materials:
o Poster board or large paper (for diagrams and definitions)
o Digital tools (if creating a digital presentation, such as PowerPoint)
6. General Supplies:
o Scissors
o Glue or adhesive tape
o Pencil and eraser
Project Title: Understanding Fractions through a Working Model
Watch the video: https://youtu.be/lX47aeS556M?si=qAkbRqOdScV6uc7Y
Materials:
1. Base Materials:
o Cardboard or foam board (for creating fraction circles or bars)
o Scissors and utility knife (for cutting shapes accurately)
o Ruler and compass (for drawing circles and straight lines)
2. Fraction Representation:
o Colored paper or cardstock (different colors for different fractions)
o Markers or pens (for labeling fractions)
3. Assembly Tools:
o Glue or adhesive tape
o Fasteners (such as brass fasteners or split pins) if creating rotating models
4. Demonstration Aids:
o Transparent sheet protectors or laminating pouches (to make reusable fraction pieces)
o Dry-erase markers (if using laminated pieces for demonstration)
Project Title: Demonstrating the Pythagorean Theorem with a Working Model

Note:
Please note that sharp scissors and hot glue guns are not permitted for safety reasons. Our aim
is to provide a safe and creative environment where students can explore and express their
ideas freely.
We believe that projects and their presentations will significantly enhance our students'
educational experience by making learning more interactive and practical. We appreciate your
support in this initiative.
